🚒 May 4th was chosen as International Firefighters' Day as it is the feast day of St Florian, the Patron Saint of Firefighters.
St Florian was the first known commander of one firefighting squad in the Roman Empire. He lost his life, as well as those of his colleagues, for protecting the same humane ideas which Firefighters all over the world share even today.
Happy International Firefighters' Day to Firefighters and their supporters all around the world. We thank you for the courage, commitment, and dedication you show every day by serving your community.

What an awesome effort from the community. We set a small target of $500 to gather for the Royal Children's Hospital and smashed it. A huge thank you to the community for coming out to see us last Sunday or Today at the market. Thank you also to our AMAZING volunteers who give up their time to do this. Fire Brigades are not always about putting out fires.

Were getting organised for this afternoons Easter Run around the Longford Township area, keep an eye out for the Tracking link we will put up prior to the run beginning.
Just a friendly reminder to all please remain away from the Fire Trucks until they have come to a complete stop, then proceed towards us.

LONGFORD FIRE BRIGADE EASTER EGG TANKER RUN & ROYAL CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL GOID FRIDAY APPEAL … We were unable to secure an EFTPOS Machine but have been allocated a QR Code that goes direct to the RCH Good Friday Appeal. The QR code may be used at any time - or - we will have Laminated copies on board the Tanker on Sunday. Please dig deep to support this very worthwhile appeal as we all do what we can for these sick kids… Thank you, Longford 🚨🚒🔥

Easter Event - Sunday 29th March. 🚒🚨🐇
The Volunteers of Longford Fire Brigade are combining 2 favorite passions as we do our best to assist others this Easter.
#1 - The Easter Egg Tanker Run.
#2 - The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.

The Longford Tanker will be loaded with Easter Eggs for the Children and we are hoping our Community gets behind us as we collect donations for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
A link, that takes you to live tracking, will be posted Sunday morning. You will be able to see where the Tanker is and have the Children in a safe location as we work our way through the streets of Longford before concluding at Longford Primary School.
Heading out from the Station at 1pm.

Community spirit at its best.
Earlier this month we were lucky enough to receive another visit from our good friend Murray and his family.
Murray is always keeping an eye on our turnout tally board thats displayed out the front of our station, with a lot of hard work collecting cans he was kind enough and we were very greatful to recieve a donation from Murray of $100.00
Thats alot of cans, well done Murray on a great effort and we thankyou and your family for the kind gesture and donation to assist us being operationally ready.
