Firefighters battling a raging bushfire on the Surf Coast hope rain that's finally falling over the area will stop the flames reaching Lorne.

The Surf Coast tourist resort of Lorne is being evacuated in the face of a raging firestorm that threatens to engulf the township later tonight. A large bushfire that has been burning since last weekend has flared up in hot windy conditions and is now just a few kilometres from Lorne. Incident C
