🎖️2026 Brisbane Cadet Games 🎖️

Earlier this month, Redcliffe State Emergency Service - SES supported the 2026 Brisbane Cadet Games at Redcliffe Showgrounds.

Paddy the Platypus got into some healthy rivalry with Queensland Police Service Cluedo and Queensland Fire Department Blazer & Bushy.

We can't wait to be involved again next year!

🌿Celebrating NAIDOC 🌿

Moreton Bay State Emergency Service volunteers had a fantastic time at the NAIDOC Week Family Fun Day at The Mill, Petrie.

They were honoured to be part of the celebrations, recognising "50 Years of Deadly"!

Throughout the day, our volunteers enjoyed meeting local families, sharing emergency preparedness information and taking part in all the fun - especially Paddy.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat and to the organisers for putting on such a wonderful event.

🚒🤝🚨SES & QFD Working Together 🚨🤝🚒

Arana Hills SES Group and the Queensland Fire Department (QFD) came together to share some valuable training and chat about how the two departments work side by side.

The session provided SES volunteers with a closer look at the advanced tools and equipment that QFD have available to them to tackle complex rescue scenarios.

These opportunities to collaborate and learn from one another are vital in ensuring our emergency services are ready to respond together when it matters most.

A big thank you to the QFD team for coming along on the night.

👮‍♂️Queensland Police Service Open Day👮🏽‍♀️

Paddy the Platypus had an action-packed day representing the SES at the QPS Open Day! 🚁🚤

Paddy got the chance to check out the incredible PolAir helicopter and climb aboard the Water Police jet ski, getting to see firsthand what our emergency partners do.

After giving everything a try, Paddy came to one important conclusion... volunteering for SES Search and Rescue is more his style 🦺🧡

A huge thank you to all of the SES volunteers for heading out for the day and educating the community on what the SES do, how they can prepare for severe weather and how to become an SES volunteer.

🚴10 Years of the Brisbane City SES Bike Team🚴‍♀️

Did you know Brisbane City SES Unit has a specialised bike team?

The team was established in 2016 by a group of enthusiastic members to provide high-mobility and rapid response where vehicles can't go.

This is how they've supported the community over the past 10 years:
🔎Land & Urban Searches: Working alongside Queensland Police to quickly cover ground during missing person searches.
🎉Major Event Support: Including Riverfire and New Year's Eve, supporting with public safety.
🤝Joint Agency Support: Working collaboratively with our partner bike teams at St Johns Ambulance and Queensland Police.

Next time you see the team out and about, give them a massive wave and say thank you! 🧡

🪚 Another 12 operators ready to answer the call!

This weekend, 12 new chainsaw operators successfully completed their training, adding another valuable capability to our region.

When storms strike and trees come down, chainsaw operators play a critical role in helping communities recover—clearing access to homes, restoring egress routes, and helping our crews reach those who need assistance.

A huge thank you to our trainers, assessors and participants who gave up their weekend to build these skills. We look forward to seeing our newest operators putting their training into practice and helping keep Queensland communities safe.
