ANZAC Day Memorial
The Cross is the ANZAC Memorial for the soldiers
that fought in World War 1 in the 1914 -1918 war and gave their lives to give us our freedom.
The Obelisk was erected for those that fought in the Boer War in South Africa, this had nothing to do with the ANZAC's or ANZAC Day.
It was first erected on a hill overlooking the first Institute. When the present day Institute was built it was moved next to the entrance. It has been moved yet again to it's present site in the Memorial garden.
The World War 11 Memorial can be seen on the front wall of the Lyndoch Library.
