Kindred Viewpoint is designed for people already doing meaningful work across community services, youth services, workplaces, sporting clubs, cultural programs and other community settings.

This isn't about turning everyone into a DV specialist.

It's about recognising that men and boys already have trusted people around them and giving appropriate people practical tools and a framework to strengthen prevention conversations.

Don't replace the trusted relationship. Equip it.

Do you work with men and boys, or know someone who does?

Applications for our Kindred Viewpoint Authorised Facilitator Training close this Friday, 28 August.

We believe domestic and family violence prevention is everyone's responsibility — but that doesn't mean everyone needs to become a DV specialist.

Across our communities, men and boys already have people they trust: coaches, mentors, youth workers, community workers, counsellors, cultural practitioners, workplace staff and community leaders.

Our thinking is simple:

Don't replace the trusted relationship. Equip it.

Kindred Viewpoint provides a culturally informed and practical framework for meaningful prevention conversations — helping men and boys understand what has shaped them, take responsibility for how their attitudes and choices impact others, and build safer, healthier relationships.

We're looking for women and men, Indigenous and non-Indigenous practitioners, from a range of professional and community backgrounds.

And through Queensland Government support, this intake is a funded opportunity.

People have been asking for a bit more information about what we’re actually delivering across Queensland through Kindred Viewpoint, and how we’re approaching it.

So I’ve put together this longer video to explain it properly.

Kindred Viewpoint has grown out of years of working with men, boys, families and communities, and we now have the opportunity to train other practitioners to become Authorised Kindred Viewpoint Facilitators.

But this isn't simply about handing someone a manual and teaching them how to deliver another program.

We're looking at culture, trauma-informed practice, victim-survivor awareness, domestic and family violence prevention, self-leadership and responsibility and how these can work together when having meaningful conversations with men and boys.

One of the principles that sits underneath the approach is:
Understanding cause does not remove responsibility for effect.

We can try to understand what's happening beneath someone's attitudes and behaviour without excusing harm or forgetting about the people affected by it.

And we can challenge men and boys without automatically reducing every person who walks through the door to a label.

That's an important balance we're asking our facilitators to understand and carry.

We're particularly interested in connecting with people and organisations already doing this work. The idea isn't to replace what you're doing, but to provide another framework and set of tools that can complement the relationships, experience and knowledge you already have.

What does it actually mean to become a Kindred Viewpoint™ Authorise...

Hear it from the men themselves.

Since 2019, men from different backgrounds and life experiences have participated in Kindred Viewpoint.

Now, Reconcile Life is taking the next step, equipping organisations across Queensland to deliver the framework within their own communities.

Thanks to funding through the Queensland Government’s Domestic and Family Violence Community Prevention Program, approved organisations can nominate suitable people to undertake Kindred Viewpoint Facilitator Authorisation Training in Mackay this October.

Successful facilitators and organisations will receive:

• Three-day Facilitator Authorisation Training
• A comprehensive suite of Kindred Viewpoint resources
• Monthly mentoring and support through to June 2027
• Ongoing opportunities to update, upskill and connect
• Access to a growing statewide network supporting men and boys

If your organisation, school, workplace, sporting club, community group or service already works with or supports men and boys, this could be an opportunity to add another practical framework to the work you're already doing.

Queensland organisations, this opportunity is now open.

Reconcile Life is seeking organisations across Queensland to become Authorised Kindred Viewpoint Delivery Partners.

Thanks to funding through the Queensland Government's Domestic and Family Violence Community Prevention Program, approved organisations can receive approximately $3,700 worth of facilitator authorisation training, mentoring and ongoing support per facilitator at no cost.

We're inviting expressions of interest from organisations that are committed to strengthening the wellbeing of men, boys, families and communities, including schools, community organisations, businesses, sporting clubs, charities, churches, government agencies and workplaces.

Dates: 20–22 October 2026

Places are limited and all applications will be assessed through a screening process.
