I am a wildlife rescuer, focussing on macropod rescues on the MP. This week, Wednesday 4th March I attended an incident involving 7 deceased Kangaroos spaced apart along Meakins Rd, Flinders. All were severely injured; 5 had broken legs, 2 had head injuries. I suspect the Kangaroos were killed at another site & dumped on Meakins Rd, due to the uniformity of their locations and no swerve or skid marks.
This is the 2nd incident I know of in the same location. On 6th December 2025 I attended a call-out involving 5 deceased kangaroos displaying similar injuries & spaced aprox. 100mts apart along the road, again no skid or swerve marks.
This is another horrendous, intentional slaughter of our precious wildlife. The incident has been reported to Police, DEECA, Parks Victoria & neighbours.
If you see or hear anything suspicious on our roads or reserves please call police & take notes of any incident.
