Thank you to all of our volunteers over the last 80 years of service. And we also thank their families, employers and everyone else that supported them so they could volunteer their time to be involved in CFA.

80 years of showing up for the community, and it wouldn’t happen without our incredible volunteers. 💙

Yesterday Main Ridge turned out to a planned burn. First time new female driver turned out as driver. First time female crew leader led the team. First time 4 of the crew did tree candling. First time one of the team had been to a fire.
Great experience for all.

If you want to give back to your community, consider joining. It takes all types. And we would love to have you.

A little late, but the appreciation doesn’t expire.

Honouring the legends of Country Fire Authority, especially the crew at Main Ridge, who show up, stand strong, and do the tough work when it matters most.

International Firefighters’ Day might’ve passed, but the respect is year-round.

Two planned burns by Forest Fire Management Victoria are scheduled to start within 24hrs from today:

-Wonga 1.5km SE of McCrae (although Forest Fire Management Victoria suggests 1.5km NW of McCrae [ Seat State Park] which would be in Port Phillip Bay!).
-OT Dam in Arthurs Seat State Park [1.3km SE of Dromana].

So you are likely to see firefighting vehicles and staff from Forest Fire Management Victoria in the Arthurs Seat region over the next few days.

We’re currently doing planned burning to keep Victoria safer from bushfires.

Fire restrictions have ceased as of 7 April on the Mornington Peninsula,.

We encourage the community to check in with neighbouring properties before undertaking any burn-offs, to help minimise the risk of smoke taint during harvest.

Our wine growers have a late harvest this year, and smoke will affect their grapes.
