🚨 THE BRAIDWOOD MUSEUM NEEDS OUR HELP TO BRIDGE THE GAP!
🚨Braidwood is one of Australia’s most loved heritage towns, and the Braidwood Museum & Heritage Centre is the heartbeat of our history.Right now, the Centre is on the cusp of becoming 100% self-sustaining!
Incredible things are happening:
✨ 6 new accommodation rooms are opening
✨ A new café, artisan studios, and co-working spaces are coming
✨ Museum visits, town tours, and events are growing every month
The Challenge:We have a critical 5-month gap (July–December 2026) before these new revenue streams fully kick in.
We need to raise $60,000 to retain our vital Curator/Manager, who keeps the doors open, supports our volunteers, and builds this sustainable future.
This is not a rescue. It is a strategic bridge to long-term viability!

🌾How You Can Help: All donations are tax-deductible!
You can donate via EFTPOS at the museum, via the donation QR code, or by direct bank deposit:

Council is inviting tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors to undertake demolition, hazardous materials management, site remediation, waste disposal, validation support and associated early site preparation works at 88 Wallace Street, Braidwood.

The works form part of the early-stage redevelopment of the site to support a future public carpark, pedestrian link, public amenities and landscaped public domain areas.

Well, here is some interesting news for those of us who were never impressed with the idea of a high school squeezed onto Bungendore Park and surrounds. Save Bungendore Park- bless you!

Majors Creek local historian Brian McDonald unveiling the plaque and plinth for the local community at the newly named Ludwig Baumgardner Bridge at Back Creek, Long Flat on Wallaces Gap road. A small group of local identities gather for the modest little ceremony where we heard about Ludy from Brian. Big thanks to Matt and Steve from the Progress association and for the support of QPRC councillors and staff. Hopefully more names and plaques for the village in the near future.
