BCSS Family Movie Night is Coming Up!

Our BCSS community is warmly invited to join us for a fun-filled Family Movie Night! Bring your favourite pyjamas, a blanket, and your family for a great evening together.

To help our P&C prepare enough pizzas for the night, a pre-order form will be sent home with students. Please return your completed form by the due date so pizza numbers can be finalised and ordered.

A huge thank you to our P&C for helping organise this exciting event for our school community. Our Student Council will also be selling Milo on the night!

We can't wait to see everyone there for a fantastic evening of food, fun, and family time.

This week, our Grade 3–6 boys welcomed Mr Murador from Malanda State High School for a wellbeing session focused on respect, responsibility, positive relationships, and making good choices. Students enjoyed taking part in the Minefield Communication challenge, where blindfolded participants had to rely on teamwork, trust, and clear communication to navigate obstacles. Thank you, Mr Murador, for taking the time to visit our school and share your knowledge and experiences with our students

Last Monday, our students enjoyed a fantastic excursion to Herberton Historical Village, where they stepped back in time and explored what life was like in the past.
Throughout the day, students visited the old junior and senior classrooms, explored historic stores, watched a fascinating movie about how Herberton came to be, and learned about the important role of the blacksmith in early communities. They also had the opportunity to see a range of old cars and fire trucks, giving them a glimpse into how transport and emergency services have changed over the years.
The excursion provided a wonderful hands-on learning experience and brought history to life for our students. It was great to see their curiosity, questions and excitement as they explored the village.
We hope you enjoy these snapshots from our adventure!

Student Council- Term 2 Bike Club

Today we had the student council bike club program running at Butchers Creek School. This is a program designed by the students and staff , for the studnets to build resilience, confidence and problem solving strategies. Throughout the program, students do bike maintenance activities, learn riding skills and also work in teams and pairs to build communication skills and conflict resolution strategies. It is part of our PBL and Social and Emotional program.

There were lots of learning moments for students and staff alike! We look forward to the next day of bike club in a couple of week's time.

Hooray!!!! It was time to play for Prep/1/2 today!!!

The students in the Prep/1/2 class have been working so hard to demonstrate our 3 school values of being safe and respectful learners over the past few weeks. When they all show the school values, they earn a whole class point. When they get 10 whole class points, they get their reward time! Today, the reward was wheels day! We had heaps of fun on our little pump track!

The whole class points were reset and already, they have learnt 1 point toward their next reward. The next reward time will be free play in the home corner!!! Keep up the good work class!

Today we had a group of energetic and enthusiastic students join Miss McKay on a walk to school for Walk Safely to school day. We discussed road awareness and road safety as we ventured out of the school grounds, across to the hall and up the road a little bit.
Well done everyone!

Student Council- Lunchtime Activities

This week the Student Council have worked with Miss McKay to create a lunchtime activity plan. It is a way for students to decided on games and activities to do and staff to support them with resources and supervision.
We considered the types of activities we can play during wet weather and also of the fine sunny days that we get ar Butchers Creek State School. We look forward to running lots of fun and engaging activities to keep our students happy in their lunch breaks. Well done Jack and Saphira! Good work!
