Great news. Porcupine Village has secured the much needed planning permit.
Well, we have always said that we would shout it from the rafters when we finally get our approved planning permit.
Here we are!
On Friday afternoon, we received the following:
APPLICATION FOR PLANNING PERMIT PA2403444
8 ALLANS ROAD MALDON VIC 3463
I refer to the above matter submitted to the Minister for Planning on 8/01/2025.
I advise that a permit has been issued under delegation from the Minister for Planning.
The last four and a half years have been challenging, however the owners, management team and staff at Porcupine Village have never lost sight of the end goal, to bring the village back to life, along with much needed accommodation for visitors, quality dining options and a function space that is unique to the area.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support over this journey.
Your words of encouragement kept us focused on the task and buoyed our spirits when things got tough.
The permit has been issued with over 90 conditions.
These conditions, some of which are quite onerous, have been put in place to ensure that the project complies with all requirements of the many regulatory bodies.
Because of this, we envisage another few months of work ahead of us before we throw open the gates.
But it is now very much a case of WHEN we open, as opposed to IF we will open!
