🌟 MALLALA MATTERS – ISSUE #2 🌟
It’s been another busy and exciting time at our school! There has been plenty of learning, exploring and connecting happening both inside and outside the classroom. 📚✨

🛍️ Excursions – Adelaide Central Market 🏛️ Parliament House
Our year 1 and year 5/6 classes had a fantastic time exploring the Adelaide Central Market and Parliament house. They had the opportunity to see, hear and experience the sights and sounds of one of Adelaide’s most vibrant places while connecting their learning to the real world. Our students also headed to Parliament House to learn more about how our Government works and what happens behind the scenes. 🥕🍎🌏

✏️ Pupil Free Day – Learning for Our Staff
While our students enjoyed a day away from school, our staff were busy learning too! Our teachers spent the day moderating writing samples, sharing ideas and using Brightpath to strengthen our approaches to teaching and assessing writing. It was a valuable day of professional learning and collaboration focused on helping our students become confident and capable writers. 📝💡

🤝 Strong Community Connections
We are incredibly grateful for the strong support and connections we have within our community. A big THANK YOU to everyone who visited our stall at the community garage sale and purchased items. All funds raised are going towards our Year 6 Aquatics day in Term 4.

It has been a busy and exciting time across our school! We’ve been learning, celebrating and building connections together.

📚 Book Week – Symphony of Stories 🎶
What a wonderful Book Week we have had! We celebrated the joy, imagination and power of books. Our students enjoyed sharing stories together, meeting authors and dressing up in bright and fun costumes!

🇦🇺 Flag Ceremony
Our school proudly came together for a special Flag Ceremony, with the Adelaide Plains Council supporting the installation of our third flagpole. Thank you to everyone who came along to help us celebrate this special occasion.

🌱 Kitchen Garden – Welcoming Our New Mid-Year Receptions
Our new mid-year Reception students have been getting involved in our Kitchen Garden! 🌿🥕 The garden provides a wonderful opportunity for learning beyond the classroom while building confidence, connections and a sense of belonging.

🔎 Fostering Dispositions Across Our Community – The Mystery Box in Nature Play
The Mystery Box made its way into Nature Play! 📦🌿 This experience encouraged our students to be curious, resourceful, collaborative and resilient as they investigated, wondered and problem-solved together.

Join our vibrant playgroup, where connections flourish and little ones thrive through diverse play experiences. Witness the magic of growth as children learn to nurture seeds and watch their efforts bloom. Each child got to take home their own planting to tend and treasure.
Come every Thursday at 9am to our preschool and be part of this family. A gold coin donation is kindly appreciated to support our resources. For more details, please call the school.

What a fantastic afternoon at our Mother’s Day Trail Walk! Students and their families grabbed their passports and chose their own adventure around the school. With their special people, they explored different spaces and joined in on the fun activities along the way.

One of the highlights was our amazing art gallery in the gym, beautifully organised by our Arts teacher, Sandy, showcasing our students’ creativity for everyone to enjoy.
Thank you to all of our families who came along and made the afternoon so special.

We are excited to announce a community event that gives our students a chance to showcase their creative talents! All students are invited to enter the Colour-In Competition.

To participate, please collect your entry poster from the front office. Completed entries must be returned to the front office by Tuesday, 17 March.
