Congratulations Mei on your graduation to Post Office Licensee. I hope that you enjoy your time as the Licensee at Manangatang, as have I. I will miss the customers though not the work, but I will be around until the end of April to help out.

Yesterday morning Mei started her training at our office, prior to taking over the business which is scheduled for April 1st. Training a new staff member always reminds us that this job could be easier with a little help from our customers. Post Office box numbers on all mail - where you have a box - will save Mei trying to figure out where your mail belongs. And while on the subject of Post Office boxes, annual accounts are due on March 31st. Get in early to pay them and save yourself $5.00. Payment after the due date will be $58.00.

Because Mei is reasonably new to the area so does not know many people yet, you will be asked to provide identification when collecting mail, parcels etc. Please do not be offended - she is doing her job the correct way. I will be around for another six weeks or so to help her settle in.

So, it is one week since my knee surgery. Things could have gone better, but I am still kicking. I guess that is the main thing. I am currently recuperating at Kaye's and Graham's place in Merbein with a physio appointment next Tuesday and appointment with my surgeon, Dr Din, on Saturday next weekend. Thank you to everyone who is caring for me so well. I still have a long way to go. See you when I get back on track. I hope that our customers have been taking care of my hard-working staff in the meantime. I am sure that my staff is doing their best to take care of you in my absence. Thank you, Jordyn and Stephen. I know that I have not made this easy on you.

Friday 27th September 2024 is the public holiday in Victoria for the AFL Grand Final parade in Melbourne. This means that the office will be only open from 8.00 to 10.00 a.m. on this day.

A technician turned up just before close last night and has repaired our pinpad, so we are back to normal today. Thank you for your patience everyone. I hope that this does not happen again in my lifetime. I have enough to worry about without have faulty equipment!
