🔥SUMMIT POINT FIRE - CESSNOCK LGA 🔥

Today Mandalong 7 is currently assisting NSW RFS Lower Hunter District with a fire that is burning in remote steep terrain to the East of Mulbring. RFS crews supported by Visit NSW State Forests, NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, Heavy Plant and Aircraft will continue to work through the day in an attempt to prevent the fire progressing. Resident may see additional smoke due to back burning operations.

🔥 CHARLTON RD HAZARD REDUCTION 🔥

Crews from Mandalong have not long returned home where multiple NSW Rural Fire Service - Central Coast District assisted by Fire and Rescue NSW crews took advantage of favourable weather conditions to undertake 2 Hazard Reduction burn’s in Barnsley. These burns are yet again another example of Fire agency preparing for the next bushfire season ahead. Whilst we are coming into the traditional cooler month’s bush fires can and will start, so we are asking resident’s to ensure that you are prepared, have a bushfire survival plan, know what you will do if a bush fire was to start and where to get information on the Hazards Near Me App.

🔥 HAZARD REDUCTION - AWABA 🔥

Today both Mandalong appliance’s along with multiple other NSW Rural Fire Service - Central Coast District brigades conducted a Hazard Reduction burn in Awaba, this vital Hazard Reduction will assist in slowing the spread of a wildfire whilst creating a buffer zone for the town ship and Awaba Waste Management Facility. Also a special thanks to Assistant Commissioner Leigh Pilkington - NSW RFS who dropped by to see how crews were doing and delivered our lunch - Thanks.

Whilst the cool air sets in, smoke from the hazard reduction will still be visible and will hang around the Mandalong/ Morisset and surrounds for the next day or so. Crews will be back out at it again tomorrow at another planned Hazard Reduction burn in Barnsley.

🔥TRUCK FIRE M1 MORISSET 🔥

Currently Mandalong 1 alongside Fire+Rescue NSW Station 383 Morisset are in attendance with a truck fire on the M1 Morisset - South of Mandalong interchange. Lanes 1 (slow lane) is closed whilst fire fighter’s continue to extinguish the fire.

Please ensure that you slow down and give way to emergency services.

🔥 STRUCTURE FIRE 🔥

Tonight at approximately 7:30 multiple units were activated to reports of a structure off Avondale Road, Cooranbong. First arriving units found a going fire inside a building at Avondale School. NSW Rural Fire Service and Fire and Rescue NSW worked together to bring the fire under control. Whilst the cause of the fire is under investigation, anyone with information is urged to contact NSW Police Force or crime stoppers.

**UPDATE 10:05pm** vehicle has been extinguished and removed from the scene, with Freemans Drive now open in both directions

Units from Mandalong, Cooranbong Rural Fire Brigade and Dora Creek Rural Fire Brigade are currently on scene at a car fire on Freeman’s Dr, between Mount Nelinda Rd and Mount Faulk Rd, where the road remains closed in both directions whilst crews extinguish the vehicle and make the area safe. We ask motorist to avoid the area and use an alternative route.

**UPDATE 12:40*** Power has been isolated, tree removed from powerlines and the road has been reopened, please take care when travelling and remember never drive through Flood Water

Units from Mandalong and Cooranbong Rural Fire Brigade are currently on scene at a tree across power lines on Deaves Rd approx 200m south of Crawford Rd. Deaves Road is currently closed in both directions whilst crews await the arrival of Ausgrid. Please avoid the area and use an alternative route.

🔥 MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT 🔥

Crews from Mandalong and Cooranbong Rural Fire Brigade have since returned from a Motor Vehicle Accident, outside Cooranbong Park, Cooranbong. Car has been removed, road has been reopened and all emergency services have departed the scene.

Crews are currently on scene at a car crash on Freemans Dr near the Park.

🔥 INCIDENT CALL’S 🔥

Today Mandalong has responded to two incidents, with the first reported as a grass fire on the M1 Northbound near Freeman’s Drive off ramp, crews from Mandalong, Cooranbong, Dora Creek, and support from an aircraft HT297 and deputy group officer investigated the area with nothing found, crews returned to respective stations.

Our second call for the day was to a report of a Structure fire at the Watagan Park Central - The Shed Cafe, first arriving units found small amount of smoke issuing from the cafe, crews used compressed air breathing apparatus to investigate and extinguish a small fire, crews in attendance Central Coast Group 2 and Deputy Group 2, Cooranbong Rural Fire Brigade, Dora Creek Rural Fire Brigade, Fire+Rescue NSW Station 383 Morisset, NSW Police Force, NSW Ambulance crews have since departed the scene and turned home.

Today crews from Mandalong, with multiple other NSW RFS members from across the Central Coast, Lower Hunter, Northern Beaches, Cumberland/Macarthur District’s along with Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, continue to work through out the day to attempt to bring the current Watch and Act fire at Redhead under control, these ground units are being supported by a large number of Ariel Support
