📢Important Notice regarding the Pinjarra Festival this weekend 👇

📢 Pinjarra Festival Update

We are looking forward to seeing you tomorrow at the Pinjarra Festival!

Due to expected severe weather conditions, sadly the Pinjarra Festival cannot go ahead on Sunday 31 May, 2026.

The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting heavy rainfall and damaging winds across the Peel region from Saturday night, continuing through Sunday. Based on this advice and a briefing with emergency services, the Shire considers it necessary to prioritise the safety of stallholders, volunteers, contractors and attendees.

While it was an extremely hard decision to make, the Shire believes this is the responsible choice. The Pinjarra Festival is Murray’s largest, free community event and is a highlight in the Shire’s event calendar. There are many people involved in the successful delivery of the event.

The Shire sends its sincerest gratitude to all involved in the planning and preparation of the event, and thanks vendors and event sponsors for their ongoing support.

We also thank the community, stallholders and volunteers for your understanding and encourage participation in the following activities, which will continue as planned throughout the weekend.

• Alcoa and Pinjarra Rotary Art Exhibition and Sale - https://pinjarraartshow.org/home
• The Pinjarra Antiques and Collectables Fair https://www.murray.wa.gov.au/events/the-pinjarra-antique-vintage-and-collectables-fair/1020

As usual, our friends at the Edenvale Heritage Precinct will be open this weekend, so be sure to pop by and say hello.

For weather updates, please visit bom.gov.au and emergency.wa.gov.au.

See you tomorrow! 🎊

🤝 National Reconciliation Week starts today and we're 'All In' 🤝

This year's 'All In' theme makes it clear that reconciliation is not a spectator sport. We all need to take action to make a positive change.

This morning, the Commission team participated in a National Reconciliation Week breakfast. National Reconciliation Week is a time for all of us to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements.

Here at the Commission, we acknowledge the strength, resilience and ongoing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

There are many NRW events happening across the region that you can participate in. Visit reconciliation.org.au for more information.

One such event is a special Country and Language Walk guided by Kerry Stack from Goolamwiin Tours on Sunday 31 May where you will explore Country through language, stories, and cultural knowledge while learning about native flora and fauna and traditional plant uses.
