Fresh out of the pizza oven! 🍕🧁

Today at the garden, Estelle cooked up a delicious batch of choc chip and blueberry muffins. Safe to say they were a huge hit—there were barely any left after morning tea with our amazing team of volunteers! 😋☕

Huge thanks to Estelle for treating everyone! 💚

🌱 A HUGE Thank You to Frederick Irwin Anglican School! 🌻

Last Thursday, we had the absolute pleasure of hosting a fantastic group of Year 12 students (and their amazing teachers!) at the Mandurah Community Garden.

This hardworking team rolled up their sleeves and got stuck straight into weeding, giving our garden benches a fresh coat of paint, and spreading mulch across the beds. Everyone pitched in with so much enthusiasm, and the difference they made in just one day is incredible! 🧼🎨🌾

Looking at this impressive group of young adults—our future nurses, engineers, teachers, and community leaders—it’s safe to say our future is in very good hands.

Thank you so much to the students and staff for your hard work, great energy, and community spirit. You’re always welcome back at the garden! 💚✨

Rachael and the playgroup have started back at Mandurah Community Gardens after a short break. It was a cold day but that didn't stop the group listening to stories, planting marigold seeds in their own pots to take home, finding a lot of furry caterpillars on the potato leaves, playing in the cubby house and at the mud kitchen. We checked out the worms and pulled weeds from the children's garden beds as well. Great work and lots of new friends to play with.

The second group of year 8 students from Austin Cove Baptist College spent over an hour volunteering in the community garden this morning.
Lots of weeding, washing and disinfecting plastic plant pots and mulching using donated cardboard and bark chips to stop weeds spreading. Everyone worked really well in teams and made a big difference. The garden is looking fabulous!

One of the jobs on the to-do list this Saturday was to net our loquat tree.
The fellas sat around for a chat after finishing the job. What a beautiful sunny day to sit in the garden!

Year 8 students from Austin Cove Baptist College volunteered at Mandurah Community Gardens last Friday.
They did a great job; sheet mulching pathways and firebreaks, weeding around cubby house, and cleaning donated plant pots ready for reuse. Thanks students, your help at the garden is appreciated!

A huge thank you to the 10 members who came along to help out at the busy bee at MCG this morning. To the members who were unavailable today- we would still value your help please. Have a look at the jobs board and see what you can do to lend a hand next time you are at the garden. We are about halfway through the list. We are focusing on removing weeds before they set seed, to save work next season. Call in at the garden if you could use some of the pots we have to give away- pictured below. Here are some before and after photos of today's progress.

🌱 We’re featured in the City of Mandurah’s Campaign! 💚We are thrilled to share that Mandurah Community Gardens—along with our friends at Lakelands and Falcon community gardens—were recently showcased by the City of Mandurah!
Community gardens are so much more than just growing fresh veggies. They are places where local residents come together to share a cuppa, swap tips on pest control, enjoy the pizza oven, and help kids learn about worms, composting, and butterflies through local educational booklets! A massive thank you to the City of Mandurah and the Grow It Local program for their continuous support in making our gardens thrive.
