Please see the following joint announcement by the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard Association and Marine Rescue Queensland.

Today marks the beginning of a new journey for Coast Guard Brisbane who will soon begin the transition to become Marine Rescue Queensland Manly.

Our 50+ years of service as a Marine Rescue unit will continue under new branding and new coloured shirts.

We will continue with our passion of serving the boating community of South East Queensland and our mission of saving life at sea.

We recognise and thank the AVCGA National Board for the extraordinary work done behind the scenes to reach an agreement with the Queensland Government that meets our legal obligations and results in the best possible outcome for both our volunteers and the boating community.

Strong Wind Warning released for today and this weekend.

Please take all precautions to ready your boat for potentially nasty weather over the weekend. If you have PWC such as kayaks etc then please ensure they are secure and identified with your contact details.

Might be a good idea to secure loose items and double line if you're moored.

These aircraft are absolute life savers. Always a welcome sight when we see turn up during a Search and Rescue.

These aircraft were instrumental in the recent search for missing divers off of Stradbroke Island last month.

This weekend our flags are at half mast to pay respect to Bill and Frank from Marine Rescue NSW Ballina who passed away in the line of duty this week.

Our thoughts go out to our fellow rescue volunteers in Marine Rescue NSW, who tragically lost their lives assisting others in treacherous conditions off Ballina, NSW on Monday evening.

A sober reminder about the dangers that coastal bars can represent.

Three people confirmed dead but four made it to shore after rescue went wrong in rough seas

Coast Guard Brisbane and Redland Bay took part in the search for two missing divers over the weekend in open waters off North Stradbroke Island.

We were delighted to hear, early Sunday morning that the divers had been located and recovered safely. An amazing result for all involved.
