Join us at the Mannum Library during the first week of the school holidays for two fun and creative workshops💐🧶

At 10am on Monday the 28th of September, Terese from Flowers By Terese will be running a flower arranging workshop for kids ages 10+
This will be followed by a crochet workshop with Toni at 10am on Tuesday the 29th of September, also aimed at kids ages 10+

All events are free but bookings are necessary! You can either book online though the links provided or give us a call on 8569 2005

📣 All children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult for the duration of the activities.

Celebrating Our Amazing Library Team 📚❤️

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful library team — Jo, Lena, Tiarne and Nicole, and our amazing volunteers — for the many ways you enrich our school community every day.

From helping students choose and borrow books, encouraging a love of reading and supporting their learning, to preparing for Book Week, creating engaging school holiday activities and connecting with our wider community, the work of our library team reaches far beyond the library walls.

So much of what you do happens quietly and behind the scenes, yet it has such a significant and far-reaching impact on our students, our school and our community.

Next week is book week!
Thursday the 27th of August is the day of the book week parade.
So that all staff can attend the parade, the library will be opening later than usual at 10:30am!

**WE HAVE SOME GREAT NEWS TO SHARE! **
Calling All Local Writers. First-Time Writers Especially Welcome.
The Murraylands Writers’ Group, in association with the Mannum Mag, has launched its first writing competition, and the theme is Friendship. Poetry and short stories are both welcome. There are three sections: Under 12s for junior writers, Teens for ages 12 to 17, and an Open section where all ages are welcome. Entry is free, there are prizes in every section, and the competition is open to residents of the Murraylands region. Entries open on 1st of September 2026 and close on 31st of October 2026.
Full details on how to enter will appear in the Mannum Mag and on the Mag’s website, sites.google.com/view/mannum-mag, from September. Winners will be announced in the Christmas Edition. The competition is sponsored by Caring Connected Communities - Mid Murray Su***de Prevention Network Inc. So, get your thinking caps on. As Mark Twain reportedly put it, "writing is easy, and all you have to do is cross out the wrong words."

Edit: The chickens have returned home!

We've had some beautiful chickens visiting the library today!
Unfortunately, all things must come to an end and it's time for them to go home.

Is anyone missing these lovely hens? 🐔
