🌟 FUN FACT FRIDAY! 🌟

☁️ Did you know an average cloud can weigh around 500 tonnes? ☁️😲

They might look light and fluffy floating above us, but clouds contain an enormous amount of tiny water droplets.

A typical cumulus cloud can contain hundreds of tonnes of water – roughly equivalent to the weight of around 100 elephants! 🐘🐘🐘

So how does all that water stay up there? The droplets are incredibly tiny and are kept suspended by rising air currents. 🌬️☁️

Next time you look up at a fluffy cloud over Mareeba, remember – there's a LOT more weight up there than it looks! 😂

Disaster preparedness doesn't have to be all serious business! Come along to Mareeba Shire Council's FREE Dinner & Disaster Information and Movie Night at the Mareeba Drive-In.

Mareeba Community Centre will be there too! 💙

Our Project Lead – Disaster Preparedness & Resilience, Chetty, will be attending on the night, so make sure you come over and say hello! 👋 Chetty will be available to chat about disaster preparedness, resilience and how we can all be better prepared before disaster season arrives.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a busy community organisation while completing a nationally recognised Certificate III in Business Administration.

✅ Full-time paid traineeship (76 hours per fortnight)
✅ Based in Mareeba
✅ Ongoing mentoring and support
✅ Develop valuable administration and customer service skills

You'll work alongside a supportive team, learning a range of office administration tasks including phone and email communication, data entry, document processing, and using systems such as Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

🐄 Did you know cows can have best friends? 🐄💛🐄

Research has found that cows can form strong social bonds and often have preferred companions within their herd. They can become more relaxed when they're spending time with a familiar friend.

Seems friendship isn't just important for us humans! 😊

Living in the Tablelands, we're lucky to have plenty of cattle around, so next time you pass a paddock, you might just be looking at a couple of best mates hanging out together! 🌿🐄
