🚧 Shire works watch - what’s happening next week 🚧
SEASONAL W**D SPRAYING
Our seasonal w**d spraying program across local parks, public open spaces and selected rural and semi-rural road verges will begin next week, weather permitting. The work will focus on grassed areas used for active recreation, along with selected roadsides, guideposts and drainage areas to help manage seasonal w**d growth. A qualified contractor will apply selective herbicides to control common w**ds, including bindi, clover, carrot w**d and other common w**ds. Please follow any temporary signs or directions while work is underway. If you see a spray vehicle operating on local roads, please be patient, adhere to road rules and only overtake when it is safe to do so.
MARGARET RIVER MAIN STREET ISLAND WORKS
We will be completing maintenance work on the Main Street centre island, between Forrest Road and Tunbridge Street, on Tuesday 15 September. The northbound lane will be closed from 7.30am to 4pm, with detours and traffic management in place. Parking bays on the western side of Main Street will be unavailable from 6am. Businesses will remain open and pedestrian access will be maintained.
TURNER STREET JETTY
Turner Street Jetty restoration works will start next week. Temporary access restrictions will be in place, and the community may notice increased site and marine activity. Please follow all signage and directions and take care near the work area.
AUGUSTA NBN WORKS
Nbn works are taking place in Augusta from mid-September until mid-December. While these works are being carried out by contractors and are not a Shire project, residents may notice trenching, directional drilling and larger machinery operating in some verge areas and under local roads. Please follow any temporary signs and traffic management in place and take care when travelling near work sites.
