A day under the fresh green growth of once blackened Jarrah and Marri, with no sound or sight of man is a fantastic way to spend the day ! The plant being collected is Hakea lissocarpa for Alcoa’s mine site rehabilitation ! Very spikey individuals, but great pioneer plants ! Video credits 🙌🎬:

How is the delayed greening on this Hakea amplexicaulis?!
Delayed greening is pretty common occourence in proteacea in the Southwest as matter of resource conservation and also preventing herbivore predation. So good! 🌿👍
