Tig-Le House of Dharma

Tig-Le House of Dharma Tig-Le House of Dharma. Community Dharma House, Universalist Buddhist Studies, Mindfulness and meditation, Ecodharma and nature retreats, with Lama Sonam

Tig-le House is located in a quiet residential area in the town of Margaret River in the Southwest of Western Australia. We host regular mindfulness and meditation practices, dharma teachings, and retreats. Mindfulness is an ancient secular (non-religious) and sacred (deeply spiritual) practice combining the development of calm with insight. It is universal and global in nature, a valuable tool fo

r well-being, fostering resilience, peacefulness, inclusiveness, and deepening compassion in the world. Mindfulness trains the mind to become familiar with calm through awareness, observation, ethical engagement and response, and the building of comfort and friendship with the mind-body system. From this place of calm, insight into our true nature as human beings living within the world can arise into our awareness. Insight is the arising of question that allows for a deeper understanding of what it is to be human and alive. Insight into our true nature builds personal confidence and happiness leading to a freedom which enables us to engage compassionately and authentic in the world. Through compassion and respect for one's self and others we create a happier, healthier, just society contributing to the health of the world. Mindfulness teachings with Ian Hackett: Born in Subiaco, Perth. Ian began meditation at Perth Modern School in 1988 exploring creative visualisation techniques with experienced practitioners. In 2006 Ian was introduced to the Dharma teachings and mindfulness practice under the guidance of Chime Shore. Ian, upon request has been teaching since 2010. Ian has an extensive background in regenerative bushland management, conservation, and permaculture. Having spent extended periods in Australian wilderness landscapes, working and trekking the remote Kimberley and Gibson Desert areas; Northern Queensland and Northern New South Wales. Now living in The Southwest of Western Australia since 1997 Ian is involved in bushland regeneration and conservation, and teaches on local permaculture design courses. For those interested in Buddhadharma, mindfulness and Insight meditation. Teachings and practice at Tig-le House are Classical in form, with living transmission from the Karma Kagyu Lineage and Burmese Theravada Buddhist traditions passed on in the West through the late Ven. Namgyal Rinpoche, and Presiding Director and Teacher at the Origins Centre & Coorain Chime Shore.

One of the first things newcomers to Tig-Le notice is the mix of native endemic plant species within our permaculture garden. Here are some of the endemics flowering at the moment.

Each week around 20 plus people head down the garden path to the studio in the gardens out back to join in one or more of our mindfulness, Dharma or private training session.

We deeply enjoy having a community home.

Some of the Southwest local species include: Taxandria, Hardenbergia, Chorizema, Conostylis, Hypocalymma, Marri, Billardiera, Paraserianthes.

Hi

I know this is super last-minute, but I unexpectedly have more spots open up for the Metta retreat. If you (or anyone you know!) is interested in a spontaneous meditation getaway, this could be a great opportunity. By donation only.

A lot of effort goes into organising and running these retreat experiences, and I want to share these valuable oral teachings with others (this approach to Metta isn't in any books or on the internet).

Please let me know as soon as possible if youโ€™d like more details or would like to come along. It would mean a lot to have you there!
