The Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre Leisure Pool is closing from Sunday 20 September for urgent repairs.

The Leisure Pool at the MAC has a significant leak that must be repaired to reduce the risk of more costly future repairs and allow work on the new Splash Park to continue.

Following a series of investigations and attempts to repair the leak, the Leisure Pool will close for six weeks to start with. The 50m Pool, Warm Water Pool and Spa will remain open.

Once the pool is drained, we will have a better understanding of the leaks and how long they will take to fix.

During the Leisure Pool closure the MAC team are adjusting lesson timetables to make sure we can keep running our regular programs, however there will be changes to how some lessons are run.

MAC Members will be receiving emails with more information about how their classes will change during these works.

We’re doing everything we can to repair this leak as fast as possible.

Active Maribyrnong is proud to have been awarded Community Initiative of the Year 2026 at the Parks and Leisure Australia (Vic/ Tas) Awards for our Swim Unity program.

Supported through Play Our Way Federal Government Funding, Swim Unity has empowered more than 200 multicultural women in our community to learn to swim, build confidence in aquatic environments and develop a lifelong skill.

More than swimming lessons, the program has created confidence, connection and opportunities for women to safely enjoy the water with their families and children.

A huge thank you to the team at Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre for delivering such an impactful program and to Parks and Leisure Australia for recognising an initiative we are incredibly proud of.
