Last night, Marong Fire Brigade held its Bi-Annual General Meeting, where members elected the brigade’s leadership team for the next two years.

These roles will take effect from 1 July 2026.

1st Lieutenant: Andrew Jochs
2nd Lieutenant: Trent Knight
3rd Lieutenant: Tim Scott
4th Lieutenant: Rod Malone

Secretary: Jo Bravo
Treasurer: Alex Malone
Training Coordinator: Trent Knight

Health & Safety Coordinator: Michael Shay

We would like to sincerely thank our outgoing management team for their leadership, commitment, and contribution over the past two years.

You may see our volunteers out and about in the streets of Marong this morning, don’t worry, nothing’s wrong!

Our members are conducting routine checks of local fire plugs (hydrants) to make sure they are clearly marked, easy to locate, and accessible in the event of an emergency. As you can see in the images, sometimes marker posts can be damaged or hydrants can become hidden by grass or vegetation.

In an emergency, every second counts, so making sure our water supply points are easy to find and use is a really important job.
