You may see our volunteers out and about in the streets of Marong this morning, don’t worry, nothing’s wrong!

Our members are conducting routine checks of local fire plugs (hydrants) to make sure they are clearly marked, easy to locate, and accessible in the event of an emergency. As you can see in the images, sometimes marker posts can be damaged or hydrants can become hidden by grass or vegetation.

In an emergency, every second counts, so making sure our water supply points are easy to find and use is a really important job.

If you notice a damaged marker post or a hydrant that’s hard to see, feel free to let us know 👍 You can report issues directly to us https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/Hs6g90BWcg

What will you do with your pets on high fire risk days? 🐶🐄

Make sure pets and livestock are included in your family's fire plan. Have food, water, bedding and safe transportation ready to minimise stress on yourself and your animals in an emergency

As part of your fire plan, put together an emergency kit that you can take with you when leaving in an emergency.
