Eastern Beaches Police Area Command (PAC) is part of the Central Metropolitan Region of the NSW Police Force. The Command is bordered by South Sydney PAC, Surry Hills PAC and Eastern Suburbs PAC. The Command has two Police Stations – Maroubra Police Station and Randwick Police Station. The Command covers a large area of 37.5 square kilometers extending from its northern most point with the beautif

ul Centennial Park, to the southern point bounded by La Peruse with its spectacular views of Port Phillip Bay and rugged cliffs. The Command falls within the responsibility of the Randwick Local Government Area. It comprises thirteen (18) suburbs of Clovelly, Kensington, Kingsford, Randwick, Coogee, South Coogee, Maroubra, Matraville, Malabar, Chifley, Little Bay, Phillip Bay and La Perouse, Dacyville, Pagewood, Eastgardens, Banksmeadow and Port Botany. The residential population of the Command is estimated to be around one hundred and thirty thousand (130,000). Within the Command are many industrial sites, sporting and recreational areas, government lands, commercial and financial institutions. Some of the more predominant and famous of these sites are the beautiful surfing beaches of Coogee Beach to the north and Maroubra Beach to the south. To the south of the command is the Long Bay Correctional Centre at Malabar which is a maximum security centre for inmates. There is also the Royal Randwick Race Course located at Randwick which is the premier horse racing venue in the region. Crowds can vary from 4000 during a mid week meeting to 40,000 people on Melbourne Cup Day. There is also the Prince of Wales Hospital Campus at Randwick. This is a very large campus made up of four major Sydney Hospitals including: The Sydney Royal Woman’s Hospital, The Royal Sydney Children’s Hospital, The Prince of Wales Private Hospital and the Prince of Wales Public Hospital. The main tertiary facilities within the Command are the University of NSW (Kingsford Campus, Randwick Campus and Little Bay Campus) and Randwick College of Sydney Institute TAFE NSW. The Command has four main shopping centres that are located in Maroubra Junction, Westfield Eastgardens, Southpoint and Randwick. The Command is populated by many other tourist attractions namely Frenchmans Bay which is one of the more popular fishing locations. Recreation areas include four Golf Courses, Botany Bay National Park, the world famous Centennial Park with its ponds, parks and cycling tracks and Heffron Park.

A 58‑year‑old man has been charged following a series of property‑related offences across the Eastern Beaches and Eastern Suburbs Police Area Commands.

About 4am on Tuesday 14 April 2026, the man allegedly entered a garage in Coogee and stole camera equipment.

At 4am on Sunday 3 May 2026, a grey Subaru was allegedly stolen from Randwick. Approximately 90 minutes later, the same man is accused of entering a residence in Rose Bay and stealing golf clubs, skateboards, and a mountain bike.

At 4am on Monday 4 May 2026, the man allegedly drove the stolen Subaru to a home in Coogee, where an electric bike was taken. Police also received further reports of stolen tools in the Coogee area.

The Eastern Beaches Proactive Crime Team commenced an investigation.

About 9am on Wednesday 27 May 2026, officers attended a residence in Surry Hills, where the man was located and arrested. A crime scene warrant was executed at the property, and several items of interest were seized, including the stolen property.

He was taken to Surry Hills Police Station and charged with 4 x Break, Enter & Steal, Be carried in conveyance without consent of owner, Steal from dwelling and Enter vehicle without consent of owner

Bail was refused. He is scheduled to appear before Bail Court 7 today (28 May 2026).

A 49 year old male has been charged with break and enter offences after incidents in Eastgardens.

At 4:29pm on Sunday 17 May 2026 the male entered a carpark of a unit complex in Eastgardens. Once inside the carpark the male forced entry into a vehicle and stole 2 bags.

At 7:44pm the same day, the same male entered a foyer of a unit complex in Eastgardens. He stole a package from the foyer and then entered the carpark. Once inside the carpark the male forced entry into a vehicle and stole a wallet and bag.

At 9:34pm on Tuesday 19 May 2026 the same male entered a carpark of another unit complex. Once inside the carpark the male forced entry into 3 separate vehicles and stole items.
Eastern Beaches Proactive Crime Team commenced an investigation.

About 8:45am this morning (Tuesday 26 May) a search warrant was executed at a residence in Zetland. During the search Police located and seized multiple items of interest.

The male was arrested and conveyed to Maroubra Police Station where he was charged with 2 x Break & Enter, Face blackened/disguised and 3 x Steal from property. Bail was refused and he will appear before Bail division court tomorrow 27 May.
