🎂✨ Welcome to The Land of Birthdays! 🌈🌳

We had a magical time stepping into a birthday world inspired by The Magic Faraway Tree! Children got creative making colourful paper party hats and teacups with saucers, designing DIY stickers to gift, and joining in the excitement of Pass the Parcel, where everyone went home with a present! 🎁✨

A very special shout-out to Ruby, who took our theme to the next level! 💕 She came in with her very own handmade The Magic Faraway Tree costume - how magical is that? 🌳✨ We absolutely loved seeing her creativity come to life!

What a wonderful evening of storytelling, music and conversation at Margaret Martin Library! 🎶📚

We were delighted to welcome Australian musician, journalist, community advocate and author Paulie Stewart for a special author talk and performance celebrating his memoir "All the Rage".

Joined by guitarist Byron and in conversation with journalist and broadcaster Janine Perrett, Paulie shared fascinating and candid stories from a remarkable life shaped by music, activism, resilience and community.

A huge thank you to Paulie, Janine and Byron for joining us, and to everyone who came along and helped make it such a memorable evening. ❤️

🎉 And the winners are…! 🎨📚

A huge congratulations to all the talented young artists who entered our Children’s Book Week 2026 Artwork Competition: Tell a story in your drawing! 🎶✨

We were absolutely blown away by the creativity, imagination and storytelling in more than 110 entries! Choosing our winners was no easy task - and in three school years, it was simply too hard to choose just one winner! 🥰

🏆 Congratulations to all our winners! Your amazing artworks truly stood out and brought the spirit of 'Symphony of Stories' to life.

And to everyone who entered - well done! 👏 Every single entry showed creativity and imagination, and we loved seeing the wonderful stories you brought to life through your drawings. 💛

All submitted artworks will be displayed in the Children’s section at Lionel Bowen Library, Maroubra until this Friday. 📚🎨

Swipe through to meet our winners and see their fantastic artworks! 🎨✨
