The countdown is on! Sports Day is almost here and we can't wait to see our students proudly representing their houses and giving their best effort throughout the day.

Families, grandparents and community members are warmly invited to join us for one of the biggest and most exciting events on our school calendar.

☕ Burrum Brews & Bites will be on-site serving coffee, cold drinks and treats.
🌭 The Lions Club will once again be providing food throughout the day.
🧊 Helping Hands have kindly supplied Zooper Doopers for students.

🍪 COOKIE DOUGH ARRIVING
Billy G's Cookie Dough is expected to arrive this week. Thank you to our incredible school community for supporting this fundraiser. An amazing 226 tubs were sold, exceeding our goal by 26 tubs! 🎉

🎓 SCHOOL PARADE
Our weekly parade will be held on Monday from 2:20pm. Families are always welcome to attend as we celebrate student achievements and successes.

🏊 SWIMMING
Swimming continues this week for students in 2C and 3T.

🍞 BREAKFAST CLUB
Breakfast Club returns on Wednesday morning from 8:30am.

🗣 PARENT & CAREGIVER FEEDBACK SESSIONS
Mrs Wieland would love to hear from families. Feedback sessions will be held throughout the week in the School Library. See our previous post for session times.

📸 SCHOOL PHOTO DAY
A reminder that School Photo Day will be held next Monday (Week 10). Information and ordering details have already been sent home. Keep an eye out for reminders later this week.

We can't wait to see everyone out on the oval on Tuesday for a fantastic day of participation, teamwork, house spirit and fun!

🏃‍♀️🔴🟡🟢 SPORTS DAY IS ALMOST HERE! 🟢🟡🔴🏃‍♂️

The countdown is on, Sunbury! Next Tuesday our school oval will come alive with colour, cheering, friendly competition and plenty of school spirit as we celebrate Sports Day 2026! 🎉

Whether students are running, jumping, throwing, cheering from the sidelines or simply soaking up the atmosphere, Sports Day is always one of the best days on the Sunbury calendar.

🏕️ Fort Building Week Fun! 🏗️✨
What a fantastic week we've had! The children have been busy designing, building, and decorating their very own forts, creating spaces for reading, relaxing, imaginative play, and adventures with friends. 🌟
It has been wonderful to see their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills shine as they worked together to bring their ideas to life. 💙

📣 Parent & Caregiver Feedback Sessions

We value the partnership we have with our families and would love to hear your ideas, feedback and suggestions about Sunbury State School.

Acting Principal Mrs Arlene Wieland is inviting parents and caregivers to attend one of three informal feedback sessions in the School Library.

The countdown is on, and our students have already started training, practising and preparing for one of the biggest days on the Sunbury calendar!

📅 Sports Day

📣 Families are warmly invited to join us throughout the day and cheer on our students as they participate in a range of events.

📝 Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 families, please remember that lunch pre-orders are due back to the office by Friday.

🍔 Students in Years 3–6 will be able to purchase food on the day.

From the Sunbury P&C

📢 Tuckshop Update

Unfortunately, due to a shortage of volunteers, there will be no tuckshop service in Weeks 8 and 9 of this term.

As a volunteer-run service, we rely on the support of our wonderful school community to keep the tuckshop operating, and we’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

The good news is that we’re busy planning some exciting new menu items for Week 10 to help finish the term on a high! 🎉🍽️ We can’t wait to share them with you.

If you have a few hours to spare and would like to help support our school community, we’d love to welcome some new volunteers to the tuckshop team. Every little bit of help makes a big difference and helps us continue providing this service for our students.

🏃‍♀️ Mini Sports Week! 🏀⚽
What an action-packed week we’ve had! The children enjoyed a wide range of fun activities, keeping busy, active, and engaged every day 🌟
Our Mini Sports Cup ran morning and afternoon, with everyone practising their running, basketball, kicking and lots of other skills as we get ready for Sports Day — only 11 days away! 🏅 The excitement is definitely building, and it’s been amazing to see their teamwork and confidence grow.
We’ve also been so lucky to enjoy Silent Sounds sessions throughout the week, finishing with some awesome silent discos! 🎧💃 The children absolutely loved dancing and having fun together.
Our Holiday Program is now out!
