Bettongs are nocturnal and definitely not morning people.

Tucked up in their nest and sleeping soundly, they don’t appreciate being woken for a welfare check at 7:30am and there’s usually a lot of grumbling and complaining.

However, a bedside delivery of a piece of carrot goes a long way to smoothing things over.
