Here are some reminders to help keep this a place where people can be a part of the conversation in a respectful way.
1. Be kind and courteous
We all want to help our community and environment to thrive. Healthy debates are natural; just remember to be polite in your discussions.
2. Practice respect
Bullying of any kind isn't allowed, and it’s never OK to make degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity.
3. Contribute constructively
We want everyone to be able to contribute their thoughts to any topic. Just make sure what you have to say is relevant and constructive. Off-topic comments, spam or irrelevant links will be hidden or deleted.
4. Respect everyone's privacy
Do not post personal information of yourself or others (such as names, contact details or car registration details) anywhere on this page. Do not try to “name and shame” community members or Council staff. You can see our full privacy policy at:

We retain the right to delete any post or comment we feels violates the guidelines above. In addition, defamation laws now apply to pages, and as the publisher of this page we reserve the right to delete comments or switch off commenting altogether if there are any that run the risk of defaming anyone. We are wishing a 'Great Start to School' for all the students starting school or continuing into a new grade in 2022!

Go Goldfields Central Victoria joined MDHS - Maryborough District Health Service in wishing 2022 Preps at some of the Kinders across the Shire all the best for their start at school next year with a water bottle for each student in the thoughtful goody-bags delivered by MDHS this past week.

The Go Goldfields Every Child Every Chance (ECEC) initiative prioritises a ‘Great Start to School’ for children and their families. School is fun! And such an important piece of the puzzle of living a great life. We encourage children and families to seek out the many supports available via their school community, or the wider community, if they are finding this new world of early starts, lunch boxes, uniforms, paperwork and homework a little daunting. Together, we can continue to create a positive future for the kids of our Shire!

Congratulations to Go Goldfields Leadership Table member and Bendigo & District Aboriginal Co-Operative Executive Director of Programs Dallas Widdicome on his recent Board appointment!

Congratulations to our Executive Director - Program Delivery, Dallas Widdicombe, on his appointment to the Board of Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO).

Dallas is a passionate advocate for the health of our Community. He has a wealth of experience and dedication which he will bring to VACCHO and his Board role.

Dallas joins new fellow Board member Jacki Turfrey (Mallee District Aboriginal Services) and we know they will do a great job working to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Victoria have high quality health and wellbeing.

Kymberley (the new MDHS - Maryborough District Health Service Aboriginal Health Liaison Officer) is inviting the First Nations community to meet up for a yarn. She wants to chat about the needs of local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to help shape local health programs and services together over a cuppa and snack.

Come alone or with family and friends to these family-friendly events on Tuesday 16th and Thursday 25th of November. The yarning circles will be held at the Go Goldfields Central Victoria HQ at 91 Nolan Street in Maryborough.

LEADING IN INNOVATIVE SOCIAL CHANGE - We are bringing the Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities (EPEC) initiative to the Central Goldfields Shire!

Developed and tested by the UK Centre for Parent and Child Support, EPEC encompasses the best of current theoretical and practical knowledge and provides an alternative model to practitioner-led parenting interventions. Go Goldfields will become the next Australian ECEP site in partnership with the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI).

This 'peer-to-peer' program brings practitioners and parents together as partners in a culture of shared practice. The dynamic of local parents working within the system, alongside practitioners, spans the boundary between services and families disengaged from the system.

We are now seeking potential Practitioner Facilitators!

Please join us for morning tea at GG HQ to find out more about ‘Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities’ from the EPEC families and facilitators who will be joining us via video link from Tasmania at 9.30am on Thursday 24th November 2021.
