Today our flag is at half-mast to mourn the passing of Bert.

Our deepest condolences are extended to Bert’s family, friends, fellow CFS members especially those at Seaford Country Fire Service and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Remembering Albert “Bert” Fell

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our much-loved member and friend, Albert “Bert” Fell.

For more than 50 years, Bert proudly served with the SA Country Fire Service, dedicating countless hours to his brigade, his fellow members, and the community he cared so deeply about.

Bert was one of a kind — a true character who could always be relied upon to bring a smile, share a story, or entertain us with one of his famous siren noises. His kindness, good humour, reliability and unwavering commitment made him a valued member of our CFS family.

While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the incredible legacy he leaves behind. Generations of members have had the privilege of knowing Bert, working alongside him and calling him a friend.

Thank you, Bert, for more than 50 years of service, friendship and memories. Your contribution to our brigade and community will never be forgotten.

Our deepest condolences are extended to Bert’s family, friends, fellow CFS members and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest easy, Bert. 🚒❤️

Funeral arrangements will be advised when available.

If you’ve gone past our station the last few days you might have noticed a new addition. We have had a flagpole installed 🇦🇺 It has solar lighting so the flag can remain up 24/7 so our volunteers don’t need to raise and lower the flag everyday.

It is fitting that today is Austalian National Flag Day 🇦🇺 to commemorate the first Australian Flag raised for Federation 125 years ago.

A great job by Adelaide Flagpole Services with the installation. The generous giving at our fundraisers over the last few years has paid for this flagpole. Thanks to everyone that has given 💰or bought a sausage ❤️

Welcome Harry! Harry joined us earlier in the year and completed his Basic Firefighting course in May and has been responding since. It has been great to have Harry join the brigade and attend our training nights regularly this year. Being a few years younger than Patrick (previous post), he has bought even more youthfulness, has a great attitude and is keen to help wherever it’s needed. Harry also happens to be another Father/Son in the brigade. He is the son of James, one of our Senior Firefighters.

Welcome Patrick! Patrick joined us earlier in the year and completed his Basic Firefighting course in March and has been responding since. So this post is a little overdue! It has been great to have Patrick join and attend our training regularly this year. Along with his youthfulness, Patrick has a great attitude and a keenness to learn and help wherever it’s needed. Patrick also happens to be the son of Richard, one of our Lieutenant’s.

At Monday night’s training this week we had Senior Firefighter Wilson take us through Structure Fires and fire behaviour which included a demonstration using real fire with what we call the ‘dolls house’. There was lots of great learning especially with our newer recruits. Make sure you watch to the end!

🚒 Another year of serving our community.

When the pager goes off, our volunteers answer.

Over the past 12 months, McLaren Flat CFS members have dedicated more than 1,730 volunteer hours, responding to incidents across our local area and beyond, and these figures do not account for the countless hours spent training, admin, maintenance and behind the scenes activities.

From motor vehicle fires to grass fires to fallen trees, severe weather, and helping other emergency services, every call required teamwork, commitment and professionalism.

Behind every response is a volunteer who leaves work, family dinners, celebrations or a warm bed to help someone in need.

To our members, their families, employers and our wonderful community, thank you. Your support makes it possible for McLaren Flat CFS to continue serving our community, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Here's to another year of protecting what matters most. ❤️🚒

A big thank you to the Lions Club of McLaren Districts Inc. for their donation of $500. With this donation the brigade has upgraded the roller doors including the ability to open the 34P door remotely which helps us respond even more effectively.

📹 A big thank you to the team at Betty Blue Electrical and Air Conditioning for the fantastic job installing our new CCTV cameras here at the station! 🙌

It's always great to support local businesses, and Betty Blue Electrical and Air Conditioning are a fantastic local company who delivered a top-quality job from start to finish. We couldn't be happier with the result!

If you're looking for a reliable, local electrician, we'd highly recommend giving them a call. 👍
