Mclaren Vale SA Country Fire Service McLaren Vale CFS is a volunteer based fire service located in the heart of the Mclaren Vale Wine Region.

This week at training we simulated a structure fire incident.

This gave our newer members a chance to sink a standpipe, Zack who completed his pumps course last weekend a chance to put into practice what he had learnt, our BA crews donned & entered the structure to search & investigate, while Lochie our budding ECO monitored them to ensure they stayed safe.

Training nights like these give the whole Brigade an opportunity to simulate an incident & practice different roles, so that when we are called to an incident, we are ready to respond.

Last night we attended The Cube with members from McLaren Flat, Blewitt Springs, Willunga and staff from Region for a familiarisation tour.

This gave us time to walk around inside and outside the Cube, so that if we are ever called to an incident, crews will have some knowledge of the layout & the systems in place.

Over the past 12 months, South Australian Country Fire Service volunteers and staff responded to 10,058 incidents across the state. From bushfires and structure fires to road crashes, hazardous materials incidents and community assistance.

Every response represents the dedication, skill and commitment of our volunteers and staff, supported by their families, employers and communities. Thank you to everyone who makes this service possible and stands behind our people every step of the way.

If you see one of our trucks out & about with L plates on, you're not seeing things.

2 of our members, Luca & Simon are putting in hours of practice working towards obtaining their truck licence. This will mean we have 2 more people to rely on as drivers when we respond to incidents.

If you see them out & about give them a wave of support.
