Book Week 2026 – Symphony of Stories

Last week, Medina Primary School came alive for Book Week! Our students celebrated their love of reading with a special author visit from Meg McKinlay, Leadership Team Read Alouds, and our “Read Anywhere, Anytime” Reading Photo Challenge.

We wrapped up a wonderful week with our whole school Book Week Parade, where students and staff brought their favourite book characters to life!

A huge thank you to our families and staff for helping make Book Week such a fun and memorable celebration of books, imagination and storytelling!

We would like to say a huge thank you to Lauren and Naomi from the WASO team for providing Room 17 with the incredible opportunity to participate in One Big Voice.

Behind every confident voice on that stage was so much dedication, preparation and care. Lauren and Naomi put in countless of hours to ensure our student felt supported, encouraged and ready to shine.

Thank you for nurturing their love of music, building their confidence and creating an opportunity for them to come together as one big voice.

Evacuation Drill

Preparing for emergencies or incidents is an essential activity for schools. As a school we are required to develop strategies and plans to prevent and prepare for incidents. This includes conducting emergency drills throughout the year.

As part of our planning, it is imperative our staff and students understand exactly what to do in case of an emergency. We will be having a practice Evacuation Drill one day next week (Week 7). Classroom teachers will be speaking with their students in relation to the drill.

Please also take this opportunity to speak with your child/ children in relation to the Evacuation Drill.

Thanking you in advance for your support in relation to this.

These students are this weeks "Goldie Certificate" winners. Well done everyone.
