Consumer watchdog Which? said it identified dangerous detectors which failed to register potentially lethal levels of CO being sold on eBay, Amazon, AliExpress and Wish. The retailers said the models have all been removed.

Our home fire safety visit team will be door knocking in these areas between Monday, 26 - Friday, 30 June:

➡️ New Romney
➡️ Doddington
➡️ Tenterden
➡️ Hythe
➡️ Paddock Wood
➡️ East Peckham
➡️ Five Oak Green
➡️ Birchington
➡️ Rainham

If you live in any of these areas, they may knock on your door, offer to test and fit smoke alarms for free, and provide safety advice tailored to your home.

They will:
👉 be wearing KFRS uniform
👉 have a KFRS photo ID card
👉 will have a white KFRS branded van parked nearby
👉 work alone or in a pair
👉 never ask for money or bank details - it's free!
👉 not enter your home without your permission
