Congratulations to our very own Pete Gervasoni, who led the development of ISO 22336:2024 Organisational Resilience – Resilience Policy and Strategy, a new global standard for organisational resilience. This standard provides guidance on identifying risks and implementing proactive tactics to maintain long-term resilience. One step closer!

The new Building and Plumbing Commission is a step closer with the passing of the Building Legislation Amendment (Buyer Protections) Bill 2025.

The BPC will bring Victoria's key building industry functions under one roof – regulation, dispute resolution and domestic building insurance – giving consumers better access to services.

Genomics is revolutionising patient care across various specialties, from oncology to infectious diseases. With public funding for more genomic tests, hospitals can now utilise a pioneering toolkit to advance human and pathogen genomics.

The ‘Genomics and Your Hospital’ toolkit is a world first, developed by the Melbourne Genomics Health Alliance in collaboration with healthcare experts across Victoria.

Did you know that Victoria has the highest rate of instrumental births in Australia?

By implementing the Operative Vaginal Birth Safety Bundle, Monash Health has significantly reduced neonatal injuries associated with these births. VMIA is funding the cost of training and resources of the safety bundle for all level 4-6 Victorian maternity services.

Our team has been out inspecting new builds across the state targeting water ingress on balconies – a major cause of harmful mould in new homes.

The most common compliance problems our inspectors are seeing that can cause this issue are:

💧 inadequate gradients on balcony floors, causing water to pool beneath paving

💧 inadequate overflow provisions

💧 membrane problems such as inadequate thickness and bubbling

💧 missing documentation in some cases contributing to unauthorised substitution of materials.
