💯🎉 100 Days Smarter! 🎉💯

This week, our Foundation students celebrated their 100th day of school with a day full of fun, laughter and everything to do with the number 100!

Students enjoyed a range of 100-themed activities, baked delicious cookies and many dressed up as though they were 100 years old. It was a fantastic way to celebrate just how much they have learned and grown over their first 100 days at school.

Be sure to check out our Foundation teachers, who also embraced the theme. We can only assume that six months of teaching Prep has aged them just a little faster than expected! 😉👵👴

We are proud to share that our Principal, Neil Scott, is featured in the latest edition of School News magazine, reflecting on some of the beliefs and approaches that underpin teaching and learning at St Kilda Park Primary School.

In his article, Neil explores why academic excellence and student wellbeing are not competing priorities. Instead, he argues that calm classrooms, strong relationships, explicit teaching and high expectations work together to create the safe, supportive and engaging environments where students flourish.

The article also celebrates the unique role that local public schools play in building strong communities, bringing together children and families from diverse backgrounds and helping young people develop empathy, belonging and a deep connection to the world around them.

Thank you to our wonderful SKiPPS families for your understanding, flexibility and support yesterday as our teachers, education support staff and school leaders participated in statewide industrial action.

We know that the day created challenges for many families, and we sincerely appreciate the patience and support shown by our community.

Industrial action is never a decision that educators take lightly. Yesterday reflected our staff's commitment to advocating for a strong, sustainable and well-funded public education system that gives every child the opportunity to succeed.

🏆 Our Best Ever NAPLAN Results! 🏆

Today we are incredibly proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students, staff and families with the release of our 2026 NAPLAN results.

The infographic below shows the percentage of our Year 3 and Year 5 students who achieved in the Strong and Exceeding proficiency levels across each NAPLAN domain. We are thrilled to share that St Kilda Park Primary School has outperformed both similar schools and our Beachside network schools in every single domain.

Even more pleasing, these results also compare exceptionally well against many of our high-fee neighbouring independent schools.

While we are enormously proud of these results, we also know that a great education is about far more than a test score.

NAPLAN captures only a small snapshot of what schools do. It cannot measure creativity, curiosity, resilience, kindness, confidence, teamwork, leadership, friendships, a love of learning, or the countless experiences that make primary school so special. These things matter deeply to us and remain at the heart of everything we do.

That said, we also believe it is important to celebrate success when it reflects years of purposeful improvement.

Over the past few years, our staff have worked incredibly hard to strengthen teaching and learning across the school. We have introduced a more explicit, evidence-informed approach to literacy and mathematics, developed consistent classroom routines and high expectations, and created calm, engaging learning environments where every minute counts. These results provide strong evidence that this work is making a real difference for our students.

Most importantly, these results belong to our students. They are a reflection of their effort, perseverance and commitment to learning, supported every day by dedicated teachers and wonderful families who work in partnership with us.

Congratulations to everyone who has contributed to this achievement. It is our strongest NAPLAN performance to date, and one that our whole school community should be incredibly proud of.

Today was one of our favourite days of the school year... Market Day! 🎉

Our Year 6 students stepped into the role of young entrepreneurs, planning and running an incredible range of market stalls and attractions for the rest of the school. From wood-fired pizza, a chocolate toss and disco to an escape room and even a haunted house, there was something for everyone!

Armed with a few gold coins, students from Foundation to Year 5 had a fantastic time choosing where to spend their money, while our Year 6 students gained valuable experience in leadership, teamwork, organisation, customer service and the challenges of running a small business.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing our Foundation students enjoy their very first Market Day alongside their wonderful Year 5 buddies, who helped them visit the stalls, spend their money and make the most of every moment.

As well as being a fun and authentic learning experience, Market Day raises valuable funds to support our Year 6 graduation and end-of-year celebrations.

A huge thank you to our amazing Year 6 students, staff and parent volunteers for all of the planning, hard work and enthusiasm that made today's event such a wonderful success. Well done, everyone! 👏

Today, our school came together to celebrate NAIDOC Week with a wonderful day of learning and celebration, recognising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and achievements, and this year's theme, "50 Years Deadly."

Our day began with a simple yet powerful Welcome and Smoking Ceremony led by Marbee Williams, a proud Boonwurrung man and member of the Yalukit Willam people, the Traditional Owners of the land on which St Kilda Park Primary School stands. It was a meaningful way to begin the day together.

Students then took part in a range of engaging activities celebrating the world's oldest continuing culture, learning with Marbee and Theresa Moore, a valued member of our SKiPPS community.

Thank you to everyone who helped make today such a rich and memorable celebration.
