EMILY's List Australia stands in solidarity with our Queensland sisterhood.

We believe women must have contrl over their own bodies and choices in their lives.

Reproductive freedom empowers wmen and men to choose if, when, and how to begin the important journey into parenthood, without fear of discrimination, coercion, or violence.

It's National Reconciliation Week, running from 27th May to 3rd June.

This week is a time to reflect on Australia's shared histories. This year's theme is 'All in', which is an important reminder that reconciliation requires ongoing action from all Australians.

At EMILY's List, we're proud to have supported First Nations women run for Parliament, and we remain committed to doing this work.

This morning, our CEO Pamela Anderson, a proud Yorta Yorta and Gunaikurnai woman, attended a National Sorry Day ceremony.

National Sorry Day acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of the Stolen Generations, who were forcibly removed from their homes and communities.

Today is a day to reflect on the lasting impacts of these policies and continue taking steps towards reconciliation.

On the weekend, EMILY’s List hosted a fringe event at the Victorian Labor state conference to celebrate our 30th anniversary. 🎉 🧁

Attendees took part in an agree/dissent discussion, using paddles to respond to statements about gender equity, representation, and leadership in politics, sparking spirited debate.

Afterwards, attendees networked whilst eating some delicious cupcakes. Thank you to everyone who joined us and to our volunteers for running our merch stall all weekend! 💜

We debuted some new merch, now available on our online shop - go check it out! 👀

Congratulations to Anastasia for winning our raffle!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a Post Budget Briefing with Senator the Hon Katy Gallagher (Minister for Finance and Minister for Women). 💜

Senator Gallagher spoke about how, across five budgets, the federal government has focused on gender equality.

The Minister covered a broad range of topics, including:
* culturally safe health services for migrant and First Nations women
* continued investment in women’s health and Medicare urgent care clinics
* support for first home buyers through 5% deposit schemes
* indexation of social security payments
* the government’s approach to AI in the public service

She also reflected on how 2025 marked Australia’s first gender equal parliament and first gender equal cabinet. And she acknowledged the important role EMILY’s List and other feminist organisations played in driving this progress. 💜

There’s still work to be done, but there’s plenty of achievements to be proud of.
