She has a BA in writing and is the author of "Guide to Your Greek Citizenship by Descent (Wherever You Live)" and "Guide to Deferring Your Greek Army Service Indefinitely". Danae is pretty much Greek. What does that mean? Well, to start, Danae's British father loved mythology and wanted to name her after the Greek mother of Perseus, the half-mortal half-god, who slayed Gorgon Medusa. Danae’s Austr
alian mother loved the name and so Danae it was. Then, as if her name had been an oracle, for almost four decades now Danae has lived the Greek way of life with her Greece-born husband and extended Greek family. This included the birth of her identical twin sons, who she helped through Greek School. Then Danae assisted them during the Greek citizenship registration process so they could become adult Greek EU-Australian dual citizens with global EU opportunities. Danae's first-hand experience of her sons' citizenship journeys led her on the path to extensive research about the Greek citizenship registration process, which is basically uniform across all countries. And no, Danae's "Greekness" doesn't stop there. She reads, writes and speaks Greek (far from perfectly, mind you). However, she does make awesome pites (pies), koukia (broad beans) and minestra (risoni pasta) with her pethara (mother-in-law). All these factors in Danae's life have culminated in her heart-felt desire to help people of Greek descent feel more empowered and at ease throughout their Greek citizenship registration journey. Danae wants to help others overcome registration challenges so that they can connect even more deeply with their heritage and feel fulfilled. By claiming what is rightfully theirs, which is citizenship with the patrida (homeland), the world-wide community of Greek descendants can find a sense of completion and receive the wealth of EU benefits on offer for them and their families.
