This collaborative exhibition by Olive Guardiani & Gabrielle Skye Nehrybecki brings together two neighbouring sites: the La Trobe Solar Farm and Preston Cemeter. At the centre of the work is the clearing of mature trees to make way for the solar farm.

The four drawings depict four topographical states of the site; when the trees and associated biodiversity thrived, when the land was cleared, when the solar panels were installed, and into the future, when a new building will dominate the space.

๐‘๐‘Ž๐‘š๐‘–๐‘› - Hazaragi and Farsi for ๐‘’๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘กโ„Ž, refers to the fabric Hazara women embroider on. Drawing on traditional motifs, stitches, and generations of storytelling, this practice-led project explores how Hazara women in the diaspora use embroidery as a tool for resistance and cultural continuity across generations.

Twelve Hazara women from across Australia, mostly Logan and Brisbane, contributed to this living archive of resilience and cultural memory.

Heidi Schoenheimer's ๐ด๐‘Ÿ๐‘œ๐‘ข๐‘›๐‘‘ ๐ป๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘’ presents a series of paintings that capture everyday scenes and quiet personal moments, depicting the people and places around her.

Many of these scenes are drawn from the local area. Schoenheimer is interested in small gestures, pockets of light, colour and the quiet drama of daily life.

This installation by Sally Ann McIntyre listens for the lost call of the huia, a culturally significant bird driven to extinction in Colonial-era Aotearoa through overhunting and habitat loss.

Using a 19th century phonograph, pianist Pascal Harris performs two historic phrases of huia song, written by museum professionals who transcribed the vocal whistles from the last huia witnesses.
