Over 280 attendees went behind the scenes at our Film Friendly Workshops during May! 🎬🎥

The workshops were designed to support Victorian councils and public sector organisations, showcasing how the screen industry operates and why it’s vital that we remain a Film Friendly state, especially when it comes to location permitting. 📍✅

Participants heard from some of Victoria's leading Location Managers including James Romeril, Nicci Dillon, Alice Zhao and Yuki Nagashima as well as VicScreen and Screen Careeers.

They experienced the world of a Key Grip through Peter MacDonnell, worked through film unit logistics and more, gaining insight into the permit process and the on-ground logistics of hosting screen productions.

The success of the Film Friendly workshops will be followed by a dedicated eLearning package available on the VicScreen website in spring 2026.

We were excited to roll this training across the state and thank everyone for their energy and appetite to ensure Victoria remains Film Friendly. ✨🙌
