Elyse Schachna, President of Zionism Victoria, has been appointed by Israel’s Minister of Aliyah and Integration, Ofir Sofer, to chair the 2026 selection committee for the Minister of Aliyah and Integration’s Award for Olim.

Presented at the President’s Residence, the award recognises olim who have made extraordinary contributions to Israeli society and the State. Elyse succeeds Israel Prize laureate Miriam Peretz, who chaired the 2025 selection committee.
