Tech evolved, but Aussie farm tax thresholds are still frozen in 2007🌾

We are urging the government to reset and index the Capital Gains Tax thresholds, so genuine family businesses aren't penalized just because land values went up over 20 years.

đźšś Family farms cannot compete against an unfair market.

The Federal Government’s latest $276M water buyback is pricing out local food producers from the local water market.

As VFF Water Council Chair Andrew Leahy says: “It’s no longer a level playing field.”

When ordinary irrigators get pushed to the sidelines, our regional communities, jobs, and food security pay the price. The government must stop pretending these buybacks don't distort the market.

"The concern is these changes could force families to delay succession, take on more debt or even sell parts of the farm just to manage the tax impact," says incoming VFF President Ryan Milgate.

We're backing this call from the National Farmers' Federation👇

Australia’s peak farm body is calling on the Federal Government to safeguard farm businesses by lifting outdated small business Capital Gains Tax (CGT) concession eligibility thresholds as legislation is introduced to Parliament today.  The National Farmers’ Federation said farmers acros...

This is some of Australia’s most productive farmland and it’s slated to be destroyed forever as part of the race to build the Western Renewables Link near Ballarat.

In its path are generational farming families who deserve their say and a fair go. We’ll continue to back them and won’t stop calling out AusNet’s bid to compulsory acquire farmer’s land as an absolute disgrace.

Our message is simple and clear. The Victorian Government needs to immediately reject this application.

Help us share this message far and wide.
