القنصلية العامة لمصر في ملبورن تحتفل بالعيد الوطني وسط حضور رسمي وشعبي رفيع المستوى
أقامت القنصلية العامة لجمهورية مصر العربية في ملبورن حفل استقبال دبلوماسي بمناسبة الذكرى الرابعة والسبعين للعيد الوطني لجمهورية مصر العربية، ذكرى ثورة 23 يوليو المجيدة، وذلك بقاعة “برايتون تاون هول” (Brighton Town Hall)، أحد الصروح التاريخية العريقة في مدينة ملبورن.
وجاء احتفال هذا العام ليعكس المكانة المتنامية للعلاقات المصرية الأسترالية، حيث شهد حضورًا استثنائيًا جمع بين ممثلي السلطتين التنفيذية والتشريعية في ولاية فيكتوريا، إلى جانب حشد واسع من أبناء الجالية المصرية بمختلف انتماءاتهم الدينية والمجتمعية، في مشهد عبّر عن عمق الروابط الإنسانية والسياسية التي تجمع البلدين الصديقين.
افتُتح الحفل بعزف وغناء حي للسلامين الوطنيين المصري والأسترالي، أعقبه عرض فيلم تسجيلي قصير يستعرض المسيرة التاريخية لثورة 23 يوليو 1952 ومحطاتها الفارقة في بناء الدولة المصرية الحديثة.
ألقى القنصل العام كلمة ترحيبية أكد فيها على عمق العلاقات الثنائية بين مصر وأستراليا الممتدة لأكثر من سبعين عامًا، مشيرًا إلى الدور الفاعل الذي تضطلع به الجالية المصرية في المجتمع الأسترالي، واستعرض أبرز أنشطة القنصلية العامة خلال العام الماضى، بما تضمنته من مهمات قنصلية متنقلة إلى عدد من الولايات بنطاق اختصاص البعثة، وفعاليات ثقافية متواصلة تهدف إلى التعريف بالحضارة المصرية وتعزيز التواصل مع أبناء الجالية من مختلف الأجيال.
وفي لفتة تعكس عمق الاهتمام الأسترالي بالعلاقة مع مصر، شهد الحفل حضورًا رفيع المستوى، حيث شارك النائب/ رايان باتشلور، ممثلًا عن السلطة التنفيذية في حكومة ولاية فيكتوريا، والسيدة النائبة/ كاثلين ماثيوز-وارد، عن السلطة التشريعية، إلى جانب عدد من الشخصيات البرلمانية السابقة وممثلين عن وزارة الخارجية والتجارة الأسترالية (DFAT) وهيئة Global Victoria، وغرف التجارة والصناعة العربية، فضلًا عن ممثلين عن عدد من المؤسسات الحكومية والأمنية والثقافية بالولاية.
وعلى الجانب المجتمعي، شارك في الاحتفال ممثلو منظمات المجتمع المدني ورؤساء الجمعيات المصرية، إلى جانب ممثلي الكنيسة القبطية الأرثوذكسية وجمعية الصديق الإسلامية، وراعي الكنيسة الأسقفية العربية بملبورن.
وفي سياق يعكس التطور المستمر في العلاقات البرلمانية بين البلدين، أعرب ضيفا الشرف الأستراليان عن تطلعهما إلى المضي قدمًا في إنشاء"مجموعة أصدقاء مصر" ببرلمان ولاية فيكتوريا.
تخلل الحفل تقديم عدد من الفقرات الغنائية الحية لمجموعة من الأغاني الوطنية، إلى جانب فقرات فنية وترفيهية أضفت أجواءً احتفالية على المناسبة، وأسهمت في تعريف الحضور من الجانب الأسترالي بجوانب من الموروث الثقافي والفني المصري.
Egyptian Consulate-General in Melbourne Celebrates Egypt's National Day
The Consulate-General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Melbourne hosted a diplomatic reception to mark the 74th National Day of the Arab Republic of Egypt, commemorating the Glorious 23 July Revolution. The reception was held at the historic Brighton Town Hall, one of Melbourne's most distinguished heritage venues.
This year's celebration reflected the growing strength of the Egypt–Australia relationship, bringing together representatives of both the Executive and Legislative branches of the Victorian Government, alongside a large and diverse gathering of members of the Egyptian-Australian community from across religious and community organisations. The occasion highlighted the enduring political, cultural and people-to-people ties that unite the two friendly nations.
The evening commenced with live performances of the Egyptian and Australian National Anthems, followed by a short documentary showcasing the historical significance of the 23 July 1952 Revolution and its pivotal role in the development of the modern Egyptian state.
In his welcome address, the Consul-General underscored the depth of the bilateral relationship between Egypt and Australia, which spans more than seven decades. He also highlighted the valuable contribution of the Egyptian community to Australian society and outlined the Consulate-General's principal activities over the past year, including a series of mobile consular missions across the Consulate's jurisdiction and a range of cultural initiatives designed to promote Egypt's rich civilization while strengthening engagement with members of the Egyptian community across successive generations.
Reflecting Australia's strong interest in further enhancing relations with Egypt, the reception was attended by a distinguished group of guests, including Mr Ryan Batchelor MP, representing the Executive Government of Victoria, and Ms Kathleen Matthews-Ward MP, representing the Victorian Parliament. They were joined by former parliamentarians, representatives of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Global Victoria, Arab chambers of commerce and industry, as well as representatives from a number of Victorian government, security and cultural institutions.
The celebration was also attended by representatives of civil society organizations and Egyptian community associations, together with representatives of the Coptic Orthodox Church, the Islamic Friendship Association, and the Arab Anglican Church in Melbourne.
In a further indication of the positive momentum in parliamentary relations between the two countries, the two Australian Guests of Honor expressed their support for progressing the establishment of a "Parliamentary Friends of Egypt" within the Parliament of Victoria.
The reception featured a program of live performances of Egyptian patriotic songs, together with cultural and entertainment presentations that created a vibrant celebratory atmosphere and introduced Australian guests to elements of Egypt's rich artistic and cultural heritage.
