A quick look at the scanport on X-series skis for transducer installs for Alex Chen
This setup was reworked from the Gen1 X18. Based on feedback from anglers about line tangles on transducer cover plates on imported skis, we opted to remove the plate on ours and instead opted for mounting the transducer in a closed cell foam block. This allows you to control the depth the transducer is mounted at. You can have regular sonar and downscan transducers fully protected sitting flush with the hull inside the scanport cavity. For side scan users, you can mount the transducer slightly recessed into the foam reducing the drag compared to gluing the transducer to the underside of the ski or underside of a cover plate. The cord in the photos is used to feed your transducer cable through the conduit out into the fish hatch of the ski. You also have the option of sending us a transducer to be installed by us prior to delivery.
