Our small private dreadlock studio is nestled in the peaceful suburb of Samford Valley, 30 minutes north from the hustle and bustle of Brisbane City. We p

rovide a relaxed environment with a bohemian vibe, so you can bliss out, listen to tunes & sip on some tea while you have your dreadlocks created and cared for. Our talented dreadlock artist, Paisley, is passionate about dreadlock design and has developed her technique under the training and advice from leading dreadlock experts so she can start you on your dreadlock journey with confidence. Your dreadlocks will be created using our unique and completely organic hook technique which weaves and binds the hair into neat tight locks and sectioned using the 'flower of life' structure. This structure is not only beautiful, but it causes the least amount of pain and allows the dreadlocks to fall in a natural formation, helping to prevent scalp problems as the dreadlocks mature. We charge $60 per hour for installations and maintenance. Dreadlock installs can take anywhere from 3 - 9 hours, depending on the length of your hair and the dreadlock size you have in mind. For a estimate send us a picture of your hair as well as a brief description of what you want. If you live locally come see our Dreadlock Artist for a free consult to receive an accurate quote. Full maintenance generally takes 2 hours - time can vary according to your needs and length of your dreadlocks. Whatever the problem, it can be fixed. Maintenance involves tightening of new growth and pulling in all loose hairs as well as fixing lumps. We only use our natural hook technique during maintenance. We also sell a range of 100% natural dreadlock products, organic as far as possible, vegan and cruelty free. Hand made with love and developed to address the specific needs of dreadlocks. I almost didn't want to dreadlock Jamila's gorgeous curls... almost! Choosing to get dreadlocks isn't just about how you wear your hair.. it's a calling to embody a more natural and authentic way of being. Dreadlocks aren't for the faint hearted, they go completely against the grain, but when you feel the pull for something more, it is so empowering to follow that calling. I spotted these dreadlocks at a festival and thought that they looked so familiar for some reason.. and of course they looked familiar because I made them 2 years ago. I love seeing how people's dreadlocks progress over the years as they themselves grow and evolve. What a groovy journey 💗

Taking inspiration from sacred geometry and creating some 'flower of life' sectioning to prepare for these locks 🌻🌻
Sectioning is the most important process when starting a dreadlock journey to lay the foundation. Unlike square/box sections, these triangle sections are beautiful and cause the least amount of discomfort, allowing the locks to fall naturally, promote growth, bring more fullness and show the least amount of scalp. When choosing a loctician, always be mindful of their process of sectioning as this will have the greatest impact on the long term quality of your dreadlocks 🙏 Stay tuned for Jamila's transformation x

Dreadlock maintenance really does make a world of difference. I only use a crochet hook and my hands during maintenance, a very natural technique that weaves the hair back into place, rounds and strengthens the locks.

Connecting back to the earth mother while creating some partial dreadlocks for this beautiful sister next to a flowing waterfall in the forest. 🌿👣☀ Nothing makes me happier than connecting with others and being creative with my art in a grounding, healing environment.
