At AMCS, we believe support for older Australians should feel familiar, respectful, and culturally safe.

Through the Support at Home program, we support multicultural communities across Melbourne and Geelong, helping senior Australians remain independent at home with services that respect their language, culture, and individual needs.

Whether youโ€™re a family member supporting a loved one, a community organisation, health professional, or cultural leader, weโ€™d love to connect.

From referrals and partnerships to simply learning more about our services, AMCS is here to support multicultural communities with culturally safe care and support at home.

In a country as diverse as Australia, events like Africa Day Australia are a powerful reminder of how multiculturalism continues to shape, strengthen and connect our communities.

It was inspiring to see so many voices from across the multicultural sector come together, including Ingrid Stitt MP, Minister for Multicultural Affairs and Multifaith Affairs; Lord Mayor Nick Reece; and Mohamed Semra, Mayor of Maribyrnong, along with many other dignitaries.

Our CEO, Maryanne Tadic, attended as one of the community leaders at the event, reflecting AMCSโ€™s ongoing commitment to supporting multicultural communities and creating spaces where people from all backgrounds feel seen, valued and connected.

Beyond the speeches and celebrations, the event was a reflection of something bigger: the importance of community, representation, cultural pride and genuine collaboration.

A sincere thank you to Sisay Dinku and the team at Multicultural Consulting Services (MCS) for the opportunity to stand together in celebrating the richness of African culture and the diversity that makes Australia what it is today.

Caring for a loved one is one of the most meaningful things you can do, but it shouldn't mean doing everything alone. The Support at Home program is here to help older Australians live safely and comfortably at home, which also means less pressure on the people who care for them. If you're supporting someone older in your life, reach out to us. We'll walk you through what help is available.

It was lovely to see carers come together yesterday at the High Tea held in Geelong in partnership with Vines Road Community Centre

The afternoon was filled with conversations, connection, laughter, and a chance for carers of loved ones living with dementia to take a small moment for themselves and meet others on a similar journey.

We also shared information about AMCSโ€™ Dementia Care & Support Program and Leopold support group, while hearing from participants about how important it is to have support that includes both carers and people living with dementia.

Caring for someone living with dementia can sometimes feel overwhelming, but carers should not have to do it alone. If you or someone you know is looking for support, connection, or simply a safe space to talk with others who understand, we encourage you to reach out to AMCS.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped create such a warm and welcoming afternoon.

Social connection and culturally familiar support can play an important role in helping older people maintain wellbeing, independence, and a sense of belonging.

Our Polish Speaking Centre-Based Respite Group supports Polish-speaking seniors across Melbourneโ€™s eastern region by providing a safe and welcoming environment for social engagement, shared activities, conversation, and community connection.

Centre-Based Respite Groups also provide valuable support for carers, while helping older adults stay active, connected, and engaged within their community.

A wonderful evening celebrating community, connection and wellbeing in Geelong.

Through the Geelong Connections for Wellbeing Program, we proudly engaged more than 150 participants across the region, creating opportunities for social connection, shared experiences and meaningful conversations.

The celebration was filled with laughter, music, dancing and a strong sense of community. We were also honoured to welcome The Hon. Christine Couzens MP and sincerely appreciate her support.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening so special. Together, we continue building a more connected and inclusive community.
