Run for the Firies Research and Kangaroo Ground CFA

📍Eltham North

We are members of the Research and Kangaroo Ground CFA fire brigades located in the outer North East suburbs of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia. Both Research and Kangaroo Ground CFA brigades are staffed solely by volunteer fire fighters and although the state government of Victoria supply both brigades with some of the trucks and basic fire fighting equipment, anything that is needed by the brigades outside of this needs to be purchased through brigade funds. Fundraising and applying for grants and the two most common ways for brigades to raise the required funds to purchase much needed equipment such as chainsaws, portable water pumps, brigade owned cars and other essential equipment. The Run for the Firies event is the major source of fundraising income for both brigades and it is through the generosity of you, the public, that we are able to serve the community to the highest standards possible.

Run for the Firies is happening this Sunday, and we’re looking forward to bringing our community together to support the volunteers who are there for us when it matters most.

One of the things we love most about Run for the Firies is the community that comes together around it. ❤️

We’re pretty proud of the event we’ve created, but it means so much more hearing what it means to the people who come along year after year.
We love seeing everyone come together for a good cause, enjoy the course, and make it a part of their year. And hearing these kinds of wonderful comments from people who keep coming back makes it all the more special.

Run for the Firies is getting close, and it's nearly time to get your bib sorted!

You can collect your bib on one of the following dates:

📍 Sunday 18 October, Research CFA
🕙 10am – 4pm

📍 Saturday 24 October, Research CFA
The day before the event — more details to come!

📍 Sunday 25 October — EVENT DAY
Bib collection will also be available on the morning.

Our tip? Collect your bib before event day if you can! 🙌

With everyone getting ready to run and walk, bib collection on the morning is likely to be busy. Picking yours up beforehand means one less thing to organise on the day, and helps everything run more smoothly for everyone.

Get your bib sorted, then you can focus on enjoying the event! 🏃‍♀️🚶
