Coaching for Lifetime Change is all about supporting families on the Autism Spectrum and Sensory Processing Disorder. Coaching for Lifetime Change stands out from other services because families are helped by people who also has a member on the Autism Spectrum. The three main ways families are supported are through programs which focus on
1) Families who has a family member recently diagnosed to

navigate the highs and lows to come. This program focuses on all families members as you come to terms with the diagnosis and how it has effected your expectations, beliefs. You will receive support through the grief process and strengthen your relationship as a couple at the same time which is not available for families.
2) Helping families with the challenging behaviours in ways that not only will reduce explosive and challenging behaviours but reduce unwanted confrontation.
3) The most important is to strengthen your connection with your child so that it remains strong.

Ross Greene has a new book out — The Kids Who Aren’t Okay: The Urgent Case for Reimagining Support, Belonging, and Hope in Schools.

Two words in that title stopped me in my tracks: belonging and hope.

This book is aimed at educators. And it should be. Schools need to hear it.

But my mind went straight you. The ones white-knuckling their way through school drop-off. The ones sitting in their car after a meeting with the principal. The ones navigating systems that weren’t built for their kid — carrying the weight of every hard moment, every hard conversation, every hard morning.

The kids who aren’t okay? They almost always have a parent who isn’t okay either.

Belonging and hope.

That’s what Dr Greene is calling for in schools. It’s also what I want every parent in this community to feel.

If you’re a parent who isn’t okay right now — you belong here. I see you.

Good morning shining lights,

Do you ever feel like you get to a place where you feel when it rains it pours?

After the holidays I felt like I could breathe and keep moving forward with life. However, we have just hit another hurdle where we had little Jewels de-sexed and now poor Buddy in the same week has been diagnosed with an auto immune disease.

I know at the moment I am feeling overwhelmed from it all and in a way a mouse on a treadmill. But I also have to remember that day by day we will work out the challenges and it will be ok.
