A first look at our upcoming project in Preston. The project is for the alteration and extension of a early 20th century house in Melbourne’s inner north. The proposal leans on both the history of the area as focus of migration in the middle of the 20th century and explores tropes and techniques of Melbourne’s modernist project homes of this era. The rear elevation opens to the north, reusing the footprint of an existing garage and orienting the outdoor space around an ancient lemon tree.

The interior of the extension is centred on a fireplace, that opens onto the living and dining area. The living space is set down creating a sequence of small level changes from the sleeping quarters in the original house, through to the addition of new kitchen and living spaces in the rear.

Our project for Southern Beaches Swim Centre in Hobart is underway on site, with ground works complete and framing arriving shortly. The project has been under development for almost 10 years, with support and contributions from local, state and federal government. The project will provided much needed year round swimming facilities for the Dodges Ferry Community, serving local schools and clubs.
