This week Australia’s marked our very first 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆 - a moment to focus national attention on prevention, independence and the everyday actions that help people stay strong, connected and living well as they age.
This year’s theme, 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, reminds us that healthy ageing isn’t about slowing down - it’s about having the capability, confidence and support to keep doing what’s important at every stage of life.
Thank you to Max Collins for modelling National Healthy Ageing Day and helping spotlight the importance of healthier, more connected ageing across Australia. Surf Life Saving Australia's Bronze Medallion is the basic qualification for lifesaving. It covers surf awareness, rescue techniques, first aid, CPR, and teamwork, and it allows members to patrol on Australian beaches. When Max's Bronze expired in recent years, he chose to requalify for the full qualification. He did this not for recognition, but with a clear goal: to connect to our St Kilda Life Saving Club family and join a patrol team.
Although 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆 is over, small actions done consistently make a big difference over time. So you can join our club and keep building the habits that support independence, confidence, and wellbeing today and into the future.
𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀!
