πŸ“£ Attention Seaford!

πŸ‘·β€β™‚οΈ We’re removing the dangerous and congested level crossings at Armstrongs Road and Station Street by building rail bridges over the roads, and building a new modern Seaford Station with better facilities for passengers.

πŸš‰ Early designs are available for the new elevated Seaford Station and rail bridges, and we want to hear from the local community to help refine these designs.

πŸ‘‰ Visit Engage Victoria before 11.59pm, Sunday 7 June to provide feedback:

We’re removing the dangerous and congested level crossings at Armstrongs Road and Station Street to make Seaford boom gate free.

πŸ“£ It's your turn, Yarraville!

🚧 In case you missed it, designs have been released for Anderson Street, where we're closing the level crossing, and building 2 new underpasses to create safer journeys through the Yarraville Village area.

🀝 Engagement with the community and local traders has informed the designs for the project, to deliver the best outcome for the area.

πŸ‘·β€β™‚οΈ We’ve reached a major milestone at Melton! All 44 pre-cast L-shaped beams are now on site, set to shape the new elevated rail bridges.

🐳 Each beam weighs an average of 112 tonnes, which is around the weight of 30 blue whales combined!

πŸ›€οΈ With more than 4000 concrete sleepers also in place, sections of rail track are being installed in the elevated station precinct.

πŸ‘ We’re removing the level crossings at Coburns and Exford roads by building rail bridges over the roads, and building a road bridge over Ferris Road.

πŸš‰ The new Melton Station opens later this year and will feature 4 platforms, including 2 extended platforms to accommodate longer, 9-car VLocity trains from 2027.

🐝 Boronia is buzzing.

πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈβ€βž‘οΈ As part of the Boronia Station Upgrade, we’re delivering a modern, accessible and safer station precinct, including a new landscaped community plaza on Dorset Road, providing a direct walkway from the station to the shopping precinct.

πŸ—οΈ Materials and equipment were recently crane lifted down to the station platform, including 165 water barriers and 2 excavators.

πŸ’‘ With Boronia Station now closed until spring, crews are working to widen the concourse, build new platform shelters and upgrade seating and lighting.

πŸš‰ Belgrave Line trains are still running but will not stop at Boronia Station while it is closed. Shuttle buses are in place at Bayswater and Ferntree Gully stations to connect people to train services.

πŸ“’ Attention Yarraville locals!

πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ Designs have been released for the 2 new pedestrian underpasses that'll replace the dangerous Anderson Street level crossing, providing safer connections for the community.

🌳 We'll close part of Anderson Street to vehicles in 2029, unlocking space for a new pedestrian plaza with seating and new open space east of the rail line.

πŸ›— The new underpasses will be accessible to all, with stairs and lifts at Anderson Street and a new connection north of the station near Murray Street with stairs and ramps.

πŸš— To ensure cars and buses can move safely around the area, we'll retain vehicle access on the west side of the rail line through the bus interchange.

⭐ Looking super, Spotswood.

Designs are here for the new Spotswood Station and rail bridge that'll replace the Hudsons Road level crossing, improving safety and easing congestion.

These designs have been shaped by community feedback from last year, where we heard locals wanted connected spaces, while maintaining the heritage look and feel of the area.

The new Spotswood Station will feature entrances at Hudsons Road and McLister Street, and we'll incorporate the locally heritage listed station building on Hope Street into the design.

πŸ’œ The Hopkins Road level crossing in Truganina is officially gone for good, with the new road bridge over the rail line opening to vehicles last week.

🌳 With traffic now flowing across the bridge, crews will now landscape the surrounding area with more than 80,000 native plants, trees and shrubs.

πŸ‘ Thanks for your patience during these works.

🚦 It's signal time.

πŸ‘·β€β™‚οΈ Crews building the new West Tarneit Station are gearing up for a 24/7 construction blitz to install new signalling on the Geelong Line.

πŸš‰ The new station will open later this year and will help to ease pressure on nearby Tarneit Station and improve access to transport in Melbourne’s booming west.

πŸ”Œ Upgrading signalling will ensure the new station integrates with the existing train systems and ensure trains run safely and smoothly when it opens later this year.

🚲 We'll also continue work on the station platforms, cycling and pedestrian pathways through the station precinct, and drainage channels, kerbs and pavement around the station precinct.

🚌 To allow crews to work safely, buses will replace trains on sections of the Geelong and Ballarat lines from Tuesday 26 May to Friday 29 May.

πŸ‘ And just like that, level crossings #90 and #91 are gone for good.

πŸš‰ The McDonald Street, Mordialloc and Station Street, Aspendale level crossings are officially removed with trains running on the elevated rail bridges and stopping at the brand new Mordialloc Station.

πŸš— A new road and signalised intersection connecting Station Street to Nepean Highway has also opened.

πŸš‚ With trains back on the Frankston Line, passengers will benefit from a new timetable with 12 extra weekly services, including trains every five minutes or better during peak periods.

🌳 Finishing works will continue over the coming months, including on the shared user path and landscaping.
