The Consulate of Nepal in Victoria is proud to announce the continuation of Ms. Niru Tripathi’s exceptional service and great skills at the Nepal Consulate Office as EA/Public Diplomacy Adviser to the newly appointed Hon. Consul of Nepal to Victoria Mr Nirajan Gauli. Ms. Tripathi brings nearly a decade of invaluable experience, having served as EA to the former Hon. Consul General Mr. Chandra Yonzon and worked closely with the Nepal Consulate Victoria team, government bodies of both Nepal and Australia, and diverse communities. She holds a Master’s in Professional and Organisational Communication (Journalism) from Victoria University, along with numerous other academic achievements within the Australia.
In addition to her work at the Nepal Consulate Office, she has experience in the Victorian local government’s communication department, where she was responsible for designing and implementing strategic plans and executing public relations campaigns for multicultural communities. Her role involved collaborating with diverse groups and demonstrating a strong commitment to promoting cultural diversity.
An award-winning community leader and media personality, Ms. Tripathi is a dynamic professional with extensive experience in community leadership, diplomacy, public relations, media, communication, counseling, and writing. Her advocacy for diverse individuals in both government and private sectors, along with her previous role as an advisor for the North West Ward in the Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC), reflects her deep commitment to fostering inclusion and shaping multicultural policies. Her journey in Australian public service, council, diplomacy, and voluntary work aims at enriching communities and promoting unity through diversity. With a diverse skill set and a fervent desire to make a positive impact, she brings a unique perspective and unwavering dedication to every endeavor she undertakes.
In her role, Ms. Tripathi will continue to assist the consulate in fortifying the bilateral relationship between Nepal and Australia. She will lead the team to provide essential consular services and spearhead the consulate’s comprehensive public engagement strategy, encompassing cultural, linguistic, tourism, trade and investment, economic, academic, and event management. She will also work closely with the Nepal Embassy in Canberra, and the Nepal Tourism Board in Nepal, engaging with Nepali community members, citizens, influencers, leaders, organizations, media, academics, think tanks, businesses, civil society to promote Nepal’s interests in Australia and support the vibrant Nepali community.
Ms. Tripathi’s responsibilities will include developing and executing the consulate’s public diplomacy strategy, ensuring successful project outcomes through thorough evaluation and reporting. She will provide strategic advice on public diplomacy, cultural policy, and public engagement issues, liaising with consular corps and Victorian parliament. Additionally, Ms. Tripathi will represent and assist the consulate at high-level committees, meetings, and events, skillfully negotiating on complex and sensitive issues related to public diplomacy priorities. Furthermore, Ms. Tripathi will foster productive relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies and community groups.
